I won't say I rushed and immediately pressed "post" after pasting a link...

Because that's not true, but the mistake was fixed and embedded regardless...

I'm digging Kefla's design. Not so much her name or strength.

Kefla was cool, even if she was just Caulifla... but more.

Also she proved that yoga outfits are viable battle clothes. tongue

17 & Piccolo reference was the best, still to this day I have no idea how anyone could see that reference about Grandpa Gohan from that distance.

Well, it doesn't do much else well.

You might want to just drop the series altogether, it's not going get any better from here on out.

Does Dragon Ball have any good lines?

"The fight was anti-climatic and completely void of any cathartic experience."

My personal favorite is when he was Majin Vegeta.

  • Black: They don't seem to be paying attention to you.
  • Zamasu: I'm just being conceited. It doesn't matter if anybody's paying attention.
  • Black: Heh. How very "god-like."

You're willing to waste time in a series that you know that you aren't enjoying but you decide to anyways?

Because it's part of a franchise I still care about, even if the current show is crap.

It's really not that hard to do,

Rewatching the Kafla fight, shout-out to Champa's voice actor. It is not easy to ham it up enough to stand out in this franchise, but he is doing his damnedest.

I dealt with this kind of thinking back when Naruto & Bleach was around, & it's not a good experience.

If you want to waste your time for a show you can't enjoy, then knock yourself out.

I'm no longer invested enough that it could truly bother me so I'll be fine.

Even if I didn't seek out to watch it, it'd still exist and affect the franchise.

Goku remembering one of his most important fights is a nice little reference. I totally missed that one I admit.

no i say that because every scene with them in it is a waste of time

Yeah, because in the end, they died. All the effort Trunks made to save them was rendered moot. Ok, I know you mean it's because they don't really add anything, but I think the other reason is valid. I suppose the anime thought giving a face to the people Trunks is trying to save would provide more of a connection. I'm guessing since Toriyama planned on killing them anyway and having Trunks and Mai be the only survivors, that's why he didn't bother.

also because they really don't make sense within the setting. Any human who deliberately approaches Black should just be killed.

...this is true. Maybe Black is just really weak to smoke bombs.

If this show were to go on hiatus, I wouldn't give a shit or skip a beat. Don't care enough about it, even if I watch most of the episodes (keyword there being most, I skip some of them that I know I'll probably hate).

There not being any connection to the people of Trunk's timeline is definitely one of the ways the manga falls short compared to the anime.

Then again, since they just get unceremoniously killed anyway, you could also argue that it doesn't matter if there's a connection or not.

The Goku Black arc is definitely flawed, though I admire how they tried to do something a little different (a villain with a motivation beyond evil because I can).

It still matters. The connection you have to the characters is the difference between reacting to their deaths with "awww" vs "eh".

Honestly, I was kinda eh for their deaths anyway.

I felt sorry for Trunks since all his efforts were tossed away completely (not just in this arc, but everything he did in the Android Arc was rendered pointless as well).

But yeah, looking back, didn't care that much for these people dying. Probably because it was just so...abrupt and almost comical how wallpaper Zamasu just nuked them casually like he did.
