Having no upper limits is a problem. The container weakness isn't exploitable if you don't know about it, and even if you did it's not very relevant one-on-one. It's just too good NOT to use if it has no limits and can be used without dying. It's a niche move that becomes a more appropriate tool than what the characters actually do.
Having some limits keeps it useful in the circumstances it was used, and allows you to use it in the future if it becomes appropriate. Whereas making it a wonderous fix-all move means the characters have to decide they never want to use it, which is both unsatisfactory and means that you can never use it again without breaking that logic you used to justify not using it ALL the time.

I do agree with this.
They do seem to have decided that the move is still very draining. I'm assuming that the reason it killed Mutaito and Roshi (the first time) when they used it was because they were both way too weak.
Still, I do agree that it needed more limits to prevent them from either spamming it, or just having them refuse to use it when they really should. Although up until this arc came along, the Mafuuba had only ever actually worked once (Zamasu doesn't count, because it didn't hold him very long, even if only because Goku forgot the sealing tags....and I'm still furious about that too).
Then again, do we really want another technique that can be no sold just be the other guy saying FUCK YOU! HIGHER POWER LEVEL!!!
One Strip! One Strip!Yes. Unless the technique has a way to be potentially countered without prior knowledge, and enough risk to justify not giving it a shot against every enemy you face, it is best to have power levels be a limiting factor that justifies not being able to solve every problem the same way.
Edit: Yeah, the handling of Majin Boo is a good comparison. His absorption in particularly is incredibly useful, so don't expect it to ever be used again.

Hm yeah upon further research I'm not sure why I initially thought that. Either way the original point stands: Water is not wet.

This song needs more love. You underestimate the power of Gohan blanco my friend.
Universe 10 had no real notable fighters to speak of, so it's hard to quantify their power. Same with the Namekians. It's not really that impressive simply because we don't know how powerful his opponents are meant to be. Also, it's undermined by the amount of times he's needed to be bailed out by another party.
I don't want him to be god or anything, but he's been really inept when he shouldn't be is my problem.
I mean fuck, look at how Roshi and 17 have looked and compare their performances with Gohan's.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does."Then again, do we really want another technique that can be no sold just be the other guy saying FUCK YOU! HIGHER POWER LEVEL!!!"
Yeah, that was my problem with Hit's timejump. One of my other favourite techniques that has strategic uses is the Solar Flare. Power level doesn't affect it and it has real strategic uses.
