The only reason why I don't completely hate Dragon Ball Minus is because I never liked the idea that Goku is only a good guy because he got brain damage as a child. Always felt a bit uncomfortable to me.

Ask any athlete. Wanting to be better than the guy next to you is half the point. Vegeta takes it to an...extreme but that’s the point.

Honestly that was always pretty unique to me. It all began with happenstance. . Goku could have just as easily been destroyer as protector. But an incident as a child flipped him from Chaotic Evil to Chaotic Good.

It's certainly more unique than just copying Superman's backstory.

That Goku learnt stuff from Earth and its mystic traditions is actually something I really like which is why I really like when stuff like the afterimage attack or the Kaioken turn up [note]okay, not technically from earth but still a tradition of mysticism rather than just a Saiyan natural ability.[/note].

So, watching Gohan and Piccolo train together. I didn't know that Gohan had leukemia. That's so sad. They should really use the dragon balls to cure that before the tournament!

Actually wait they should totally use the dragon balls to make an unfair wish. Like "I wish our warriors couldn't be knocked out of fight rings against their will." Or "I wish Goku had infinite stamina."

Well, here's Caulifla.

Or "I wish Goku had infinite stamina."

At this point he basically does. It's redonkulous.

I meant explicitly rather than the plot just ignoring that he should be getting tired!

Okay that would have been ingenious.

But most of the cast would never go for it because pride or some shit like that.

Like pride & honor matter when your entire universe is about to fucking die.

Okay, is it just me or is it really screwed up that they attacked a dinosaur, cut off pieces of its body and then ate them in front of it?

It's a call back to Gohan's original training.

I know, but it's still like 'I thought you were the nice little kid when did you become Hannibal Lecter?'

That training was filler in the first place btw.

The Super Anime seems to be a continuation of the Dragon Ball anime, so all "filler" seems to be canon as far as it's concerned. Hence you have things like Ginyu coming back only to be unceremoniously killed.

What does it matter if its filler anyway?.

Well, Goku used to kill and eat animals all the time in *his* childhood.

There's also the fact 17 possibly referenced Krillen's ex-girlfriend.

The part where Gohan cuts off the dinosaur's tail is still in the manga. Notably, he did it thinking the tail would grow back like a lizard.

Is it? I filed it under filler because it seemed kind of OOC for Gohan to basically torture an animal over a period of months.

Anyway, about that fight again, I think letting your guard down after you've cut off an enemy's arm is a reasonable thing to do? Especially when the ability to keep fighting with it is something that makes no sense and Piccolo has never done before. That was stupid.

That Piccolo can still wreck you even without arms?

Also, I should point out that the can't be eliminated unwillingly wish and the infinite stamina wish, in addition to being against PRIDE would probably be wishes that surpass the power of the balls creators, and therefore not possible.

At least that's the assumption I'm making if they were actually willing to try.

Actually now that I think about it the arms thing is a good lesson cause well there gonna be fighting unknown beings from other universe.

Who knows what the fuck they can do.

I think the only rule is: can't eliminate someone stronger than the master. Formerly Kami, now Dende. So I think infinite stamina is possible.

Dragonballs can supposedly make you immortal, so why would getting knocked out of bounds be different?

But okay, even granting that, there HAS to be a way to get mileage out of the dragonballs.

Aren't there loopholes the heroes can exploit with the Dragonballs?

The way Toriyama allows to happen.

I'm assuming he's either never thought of the wish you mentioned, or is just deliberately not mentioning it.

If it is mentioned, the characters will either not be able to make the wish, or refuse to do it for the reasons of pride and honour mentioned.
