God, that movie is so anti-climactic. Goku: "Now the real fight begins!" *one-shots him with a single punch to the gut*
I've never associated Dragon Ball with rock or metal, but that's because my only exposure to the franchise for years was reading the manga.

So yawl wanna see something cool?
Some graffiti artists managed to transform a nazi base on the beach of Normandy into Shenron.
Now thats a work of art.
But yes, DBZ in America was pure 90's.
The big thing was that was the first time Funimation had actually dubbed the Saiyan Saga and the first half of Namek. Prior to that, whenever DBZ was reran on Toonami, it would go from the old Saban/Ocean dub to the Funimation switch over.
I think the V As also rerecorded most of the Namek Saga because it was pretty bad in their first go around.
It is an awesome as fuck transformation, very iconic like a lot of things in this franchise.
Also re-posting this cause it got bottom paged:

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."![]()
It truly is.
...was gonna talk more about how the other characters are used, but lets let that die for now.
Something I've been wondering is if there are any mechanics of the verse you wish were explored a bit more?
I feel like there's still a lot behind the concept of the Spirit bomb (drawing energy from outside sources) that hasn't been used.
We know you can take ki from anything living (animals, plants, and even fellow sentients), but I've been wondering if it's possible to use that energy for things besides the Spirit bomb.
Right now, we only have the bullshit Spirit Sword / sword of hope, and Goku absorbing the bomb in the Super Android (though if he achieves Ultra Instinct the same way in the manga as in the anime then that's the first time he's ever absorbed energy like that in canon) for examples of other ways of forming the energy, I've been wondering if it's possible to use it to say, power up a different attack.
I do wonder if it's something he's thought of, or if he deliberately left it out.

One Strip! One Strip!I was going to say I'd rather the rules just stayed consistent rather than knowing more about them, but on second thought I want to know why a destroyer god is necessary. We've seen that they can help keep the universe from getting super terrible but that's about all we know. Such a role seems helpful if done by someone competent but not strictly necessary, which leaves me feeling like all the gods should die for the benefit of the universe.
We see characters pass ki to each other some times. It's how they beat Broly the first time (somehow...) and Gohan and Krillin give some to Piccolo to give him enough strength to keep Freeza away from Goku while he charges the spirit bomb.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"The concept of Demons trapping the souls of they killed in a limbo state really could have stood to have been used more. It was the perfect counter to dragon balls and would have made future villains more menacing to have that power. The fact that the Kamehameha could be disabled by some martial artists was also a concept that could have stood to be more re-occurring. If only to have Goku or Krillin create a version that couldn't be disabled as easily. The concept of magic was also something I was explored more, to the point of me wishing SS 3 was a magic based form instead of just some SS 2 equivalent of grade 3.
That was a U 6 rule but the TOP doesn't have it I think.
Also that uncut opening was cool. Never seen it before.
If there was anything I'd want to see explored more, it'd be either destroyers or ki itself. I'm not a huge fan of H x H but I do like the way they set up the rules for nen. Or how Negima has explained its magic system.
Like Arha I'd just prefer things be kept consistent. I don't mind ki being vague if its mostly consistent, but I think clearer explanations would help the adaptations be consistent. Or not. Toei seems to like making shit up.

I remember uncut DBZ. 1030pm every night in middle school.
Eeeeyup.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
