That because we all know that Vegeta is going to utterly fail as usual.
Even though he's got reasons to fight beyond just beating Goku (winning so he can get the wish and bring back the Sadal of universe 6 if not the entire universe).
But Vegeta's motivations (even when they are actually unselfish) are irrelevant. He's got one job....
One Strip! One Strip!I just despise that moral victory bullshit. "Oh its alright cause you got a little scratch on him."
Bitch please, you still lost it doesn't matter how hard you try you shouldn't be portrayed as this proud warrior if your entire effort is ultimately pointless. It deserves acceptance not praise. Its like when Brian Griffin was proud he failed a test just cause he tried, that annoying smug happiness is worthy to be pissed off.
Besides even then we all know that in the end Hit did a better job. At least he had a comprehensible plan, knowing Vegeta he'll just charge in, in a vain attempt to unlock Ultra Instinct & then try to take Jiren down with him with no actual strategy.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I know, but there's something to be said for giving everything you've got even when you know you're 100% outclassed. That takes courage.
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!I don't think Vegeta's getting eliminated against Jiren in 122. I think either of two things are going to happen: Vegeta's going to get absolutely and embarrassingly manhandled without putting up any fight whatsoever but someone's going to save him from Jiren's wrath at the last second, or he's going to get absolutely and embarrassingly manhandled without putting up any fight whatsoever but he's going to save himself at the last second by unlocking Ultra Instinct. Freeza's almost certainly going out before Vegeta does, and unless Toppo eliminates him as a side-show while Vegeta gets spanked, he's fighting Jiren after Vegeta.
Here's how I think it'll go down: Vegeta will discover Ultra Instinct in 122, but he can only use the offensive half of the form, leaving him vulnerable defensively. Gohan or Freeza eliminates Dyspo. Freeza challenges Jiren or Toppo and gets eliminated. Vegeta and Goku team up, using both styles of Ultra Instinct against Jiren as a tag-team. Jiren unleashes his full power and wins, eliminating them both. Gohan and Jiren are the only fighters left. The thing I predicted based on the full OP happens.
Gohan is depressed, Goku gives him a pep talk, Gohan takes a fatal blow, Gohan unlocks the complete Ultra Instinct (insert Gohan Blanco memes here), Gohan defeats Jiren, making Beerus look puny in the process.
Is there really anything wrong with being proud of the effort you gave to a superior opponent? It sounds like you're saying that doesn't mean shit lol.
I'm assuming he means a recent chapter of Shokugeki no Soma

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.![]()

Its from Twin Star Exorcist a while back, one of the characters Mayura her name faced one of her organizations most elite warriors & the amount of damage she did in the end was just a small cut on her hat.
I don't know I just didn't find the whole thing inspirational. Such a large power gap makes it hard to be proud.

Actually its not Shokugeki. Wait you mean the Meguni round?
Ahahahaha.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Not a standing ovation from the audience, thats for sure.
But hmmmh I'm just biased probably. Never liked her that much & I don't really care for Vegeta at the moment. Actually if he does get Ultra Instinct at all that will make me pissed.
He's just become really pathetic to me. Watching him try to catch up to Goku is just fucking sad at this point.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I guess it depends the distance. Like, if the person you're fighting is exceptionally strong (and much stronger than you) and you make them have to try for even a little bit then that is to be admired.
For example, one of my favourite examples is from early on in Hunter X Hunter. Early on, the boys play a game with Netero, the Chairman of the Hunter Association, where he keeps the ball away from them and he says he's only going to use one hand. They struggle in vain for a long time to get the ball back from him but are finally able to make him pass it into his other hand to avoid them getting it. It's a really great moment.
I think this fits into Curb-Stomp Cushion as a whole, though.
I'm not sure if I want Vegeta to get UI but he definitely needs to unlock *something* to keep him competitive with Goku. At the minute he's definitely slipped more than a few paces behind and really he needs to just be one step back, no more no less.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Not really in Vegetarian's case, since it's kind of...his thing. And it's almost always in foolish pride 'n arrogance.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'll admit, after all the times she's had to be bailed out this tournament, it would be almost darkly amusing if her bid in the tourney ended with her literally being taken control of by an opponent and - I dunno - forced to walk off of the stage.
Though something's supposed to be going on with both 17 and 18 in 121, right? Unless that shot comes from the end of the episode, there could be more to that image that we don't know.
Or he achieves the famed UI and still loses...just like Kakarrot did, but this time not because it ran out.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah its really just Vegeta that annoys me.
If it was literally anyone else be it from Roshi, Krillen, Piccolo, 17, 18, even Frieza I'd be cheering my ass off.
But since it's Vegeta my reaction is immediatly "Oh lookie here the Prince is gonna get his ass beat again...... alright."
Hell I found Kato's futile attempts inspiring & when Vegeta encountered Toppo I was excited primarily for Toppo because he finally was gonna do shit not anything related to Vegeta aside from laughing at him for being the second fiddle.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That's not a Vegeta problem in my mind though. That's a "Goku-has-to-win-everything" problem. Which I know, I know, is far from a novel criticism, but it's hardly one I blame on Vegeta.
Yeah, the main problem is that Goku has tricks Vegeta doesn't but Vegeta doesn't have anything that Goku either also has or has an equivalent of.
Really, Vegeta needs to get some stuff in his arsenal that Goku can't just copy.

He's gotta be useful in some way...that isn't getting wrecked.
It's in relation to getting wrecked, so worth.

If it means anything, the order of characters eliminated has exactly followed the Opening Dragon Ball Theory so far (the fighters are eliminated in order of the number of stars in the Dragon Balls they're holding). It's gone in order of Krillin, Tenshinhan, Roshi, and Piccolo so far. If this pattern holds true, the next ones out are, in order: 18, 17, and Freeza. Vegeta's probably going to be among the final three, alongside Gohan and Goku.
