English Super episode 43:
For the first time in Dragonball history, somebody bosses around Chi-chi. I'd totally forgotten that Piccolo is basically boss when it comes to Pan, moreso than Chi-chi.
One Strip! One Strip!
Whelp, we're all getting set on fire for that one.
Hope you can stand the heat.
@Saiga: Being stronger or weaker is part of the issue, but it's not the main one. And your solution runs into the problem of why the stronger characters don't just sweep up the fodder. So you run into nonsensical things like Jiren beating, but not eliminating Kale and then just sitting in his was. Or Goku and Vegeta literally fucking around by not going all out from the getgo.

I think the real issue is that a lot of people take it seriously. If it were just a joke, I doubt anyone would care as much. Though talks about it did go on for too long and get a bit heated at points.
I mean, TFS has nothing to do with Dragon Ball Super, so I guess not.

While not commenting on the Gohan/Goku stuff (apart from saying that the Father_Son Kamehameha is possibly my favourite single DBZ moment) I do think that Piccolo's relationship with Gohan is more developed in a writing sense.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Goku and Gohan have a great relationship despite Goku's lack of parenting skills, so it amazes me that people think Gohan sees Piccolo as more of a father figure.
I mean for fuck's sake, the Father-Son Kamehameha wouldn't be one of the most iconic moments if they didn't have a good relationship.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Goku is more like your actual dad, and Piccolo is more like that uncle or teacher who you share a lot of interests with.
I'd say Piccolo influenced how Gohan sees fighting more than Goku did. There's a reason Gohan wore the demon gi to the cell games.
I'd also say it's a lot of the stunts Goku pulls that sort of strain the relationship, culprit number 1 being giving that damn senzu bean to Cell.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Yeah, the whole point of the Gohan/Piccolo relationship is how Gohan sort of redeems Piccolo through the Saiyan arc. Piccolo starts as sort of an asshole (though I'd argue had he not done what he did everyone on the planet would likely be dead anyway).
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Goku's done probably... two really shitty things to Gohan and otherwise he's a pretty okay dad.
1. not teleport back immediately post getting instant transmission
2. giving that senzu bean to Cell
But the first one prevents him from having a ton of contact off screen between and during arcs; during the Saiyan saga he's dead, after the Cell Saga he's dead, and so he hasn't spent a lot of time with Gohan really until Gohan had grown up.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"

"They didn't get completely wiped out by Goku and company despite lacking any of the firepower to challenge Goku during his absolute weakest state"
The first arc of dragonball is more of a gag manga parody of Journey to the West than a shonen. Remember, they got beaten by Oolong wishing for panties.
