Pretty much the majority of mythological heroes who weren't gods were revealed to be part-god at some point if it wasn't already a part of their backstory.

This song needs more love.Thinking back on it, I really wish we got shots of U6 just before it was erased
in particular, a shot of Sadala and...

Just would have added that extra punch. But I guess Champa's scene was already dragging out the erasing a bit so slowing it down further might have ruined the scene.

That's another thing, bringing the other universes into the equation. Like, before the main characters came along U7's strongest being was a nigh-all powerful demonic genie thing that was sealed away for millennia. Next-strongest down from that was the literal Lord of Demons. But then U11 apparently has random gray alien guys that can somehow just become orders of magnitude stronger than these dreaded archdevils. Where are guys like them in U7?

Was about to use that example.
It's also common to myths from cultures across the world, and Japan has its own versions of that.
'Royal heritage' is narratively the same idea for works and legends without supernatural things and that's super common.
Not many series introduce it as late as DB did, but then very very few series after DB introduce it late either.
The other universes are taking advantage of the fact that they've been off-screen until now and have different races. The U 7 Jiren is Goku.
Wanting U 7 to have random aliens who always fit the current sorting algorithm of threat level is lazy and does not fit what has been established about the universe.

Sun Wukong wasn't an alien though...
Goku's elements from that myth were originally just the tail, the power pole, the nimbus and the Oozaru form. He didn't need explaining any more than the Dog King of the world or the talking turtle or the shapeshifting man pig needed explaining.
Goku actually never displays the Zenkai trait in particular until his trip to Namek. He's beaten and left for dead by Taopaipai... and has to train with Korrin to get stronger. He's beaten and left for dead by King Piccolo... and has to use the Ultra Divine Water to get stronger, and so on. Those four elements aside, Goku never displayed anything truly alien, and even those were relatively normal in regular Dragonball.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Speaking of twelve universes, does that mean that Zen-oh destroyed the zero universe/thirteen universes, the negative one universe/fourteen universes and the negative two/fifteen universes? I thought the paired universes always added up to thirteen. Or was there a universe nine and three quarters and three and one quarter universe?

That has nothing to do with the idea that series copied Goku's reveal.
Also, there's plenty of room for him to gain zenkais that are simply insufficient or contributed to his effective gains. Obviously it wasn't planned at that stage, but it isn't contradictory either.
Yeah that's a funny retcon. Easiest explanation was that the universes were renumbered.

I wonder if the destroyed 6 universes are going to be important to the plot, or if they only exist as background details. Obviously, their purpose is to establish Zeno's power and willingness to destroy, but whether elements from those universes or regarding those universes will ever be important has yet to be seen.
So we all agree that the Pride Troopers don't hold a candle to the Ginyu Force right?
Cause damn those poses the PT are doing their awful. No uniformity, no synchronization, no heart. Its like just a routine for these guys.
They lack the true passion held in standard by Ginyu & Hell Gohan too.
Its prolly why Jiren doesn't pose, its not that he doesn't want its just the choreography they give him isn't good.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Ginyu Force are slightly overrated if you ask me. For all their eccentricity only two of them have interesting powers and they're not even super quirky (give me one character trait from Jeice, seriously).
I know "the TFS versions are always better" isn't exactly a novel opinion but I believe it's really goddamn true for the Ginyu Force.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Yeah the Pride Troopers being discount Ginyus is just sad. They're not supposed to be evil, the way they acted in their episodes is ridiculous.
Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo don't act like Ginyu-lites, fortunately. Toppo kind of does without being a heel, it's something.
But the remaining members who got fodderized... what a waste of a concept.
They're a quirky miniboss squad and work as a squad. For the small role they had in the plot, they are entertaining and fun.
The TFS versions would be awful in a serious work. Not to mention their Jeice has absolutely no more personality to him.

It created this crutch of having asspull powerups come out of nowhere.
