I've only read one part of the Manga version, but I loved how Videl figured out Gohan's identity in that version.
It was just so.....quick.
Yeah. Great Saiyaman wasn't too bad. I miss his proper helmet though, but at least it seems Videl kept hit for her own costume.
One Strip! One Strip!
x6 The original Dragon Ball dub is pretty damn good. But I gotta disagree with you on King Piccolo being Sabat's best Dragon Ball role. Sabat's best Dragon Ball role for me is Vegeta/Piccolo in Kai. They both sound
awesome
.
As far as all the Dragon Ball dubs go, this is how I would rank them:
DBZ Kai > DB > DBZ (Remastered) > DBZ (Original 1999 Dub) > DBZ (Ocean Dub)

Well at least we can agree on the Ocean dub not being very good. There are still people who defend it as beign better than Funi's.
I mean, I love Brian Drummond as much as the next guy, but he was only good for villain Vegeta, especially when Vegeta lost his mind there during the fight with Goku. But after that? I don't think he'd work at all. (and the clips I've seen on YT of Drummond Vegeta in the Buu Saga confirm this)
Also any time someone talks about the "great" Ocean dub, I remind them of Tien the Three-Eyed Cowboy.
Way to totally spit in the face of an emotional moment.
Although the Season 3 dub when Funi first took over deserves a special mention...
EDIT:
Also I have to stick up for DBZ's Gohan going SSJ 2 being better than Kai's. If for no other reason than the narration.
The narration in Kai is really weak.

I don't mind when a fight is padded out a bit with filler, like Buu using the Special Beam Cannon or the jobbers trying to help out against Super Perfect Cell (Albeit ineffectually), as long as it doesn't become a hundred-episode affair like Frieza.
I dislike the filler that tries to create whole new plotlines or otherwise stall for time by being entire episodes, like Fake Namek, Garlic Jr., or Ginyu and Bulma. I can understand why it exists, but I don't have to like it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I also think that, while Colleen Clinkenbeard as Android 18 is kind stiff, there is certainly room for improvement if she taps more into her Erza Scarlet department. I mean she kinda already does in some
cases

The narration in Kai is more in tune with the original Japanese version in that its short but powerful and straight to the point at the same time. The original dubbed DBZ narration has that more "Monster Truck Announcer" feel to it because it's insanely hammy, but I'd be lying if I think didn't it was freakin awesome because of that.

I think Funi best dubbed work has gotta be Attack On Titan. That dub is amazing. The Fairy Tail dub is also pretty good but not in the same league as FMA, that dub is phenomenal and in my opinion only bested by the AOT dub.

We're talkin' both FMA and FMAB here, right? Sorry it just irks me when people say Brotherhood is the best dub ever and ignore the original. Much like how was pointed out earlier that Kai's dub has 99% the same voices as the Z dub, Brotherhood has pretty much all the same V As as the original. The only great additions are Kent Williams as Father and the new voice of Hohenheim.
A lot of Troy Baker as Greed is canceled out by a lot of Chris Patton as Greed in '03. Also '03 had the superior Scar. Plus it was great to have Tiffany Grant around a lot as Marta.

Buu was something Funi invented I think. It's "supposed" to be Boo in keeping with Bibidi, Babidi, Boo.
It's pronounced the same way though so I never cared.
"The proper names" is such a sore spot in the DBZ fandom. Would you believe people call him Bajita or something? Also Burori instead of Broly? Ignoring the fact that neither of these names fits in with the whole damn theme of the Saiyans = vegetables....

Welcome to Dragon Ball.
Toriyama loves theme naming. On a larger scale, Saiyans are vegetables, the Ginyus are dairy products, other servants of Frieza are fruit.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

But I'm pretty sure that the reason the fight was still stretched out in some regard was so that it would last long enough for Toei to release it on two separate DVD/Blu-ray sets. I mean 90% Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Four was Goku vs Freeza and Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Five features the final episode of the fight. So I'm pretty sure the hooks were, "Buy Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Four and see the iconic battle between Goku and Freeza!" and "Wanna see the epic conclusion to the fight of the century? Buy Dragon Ball Z Kai Part Five! You have to!"
I will admit though, I watch Dragon Ball Z Abridged religiously and I consider it an awesome adaptation of the original show.
