Yeah, that's fair. The anime at least had them kiss and hug in the filler when Goku woke up after the heart virus.
Is that what was happening? Why was it off screen?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The newly explained origin for the Saibamen conflicts with what was stated in the Daizenshuu and their character profile in the first Budokai Tenkaichi game, which stated they were invented by a Saiyan scientist using biotechnology. Now he's saying they come from a different planet than the Saiyans. Just another example of his poor memory.
jjjDoes that really contradict anything...?
That other thing can still be true...they grow from seeds, gosh darn it!
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They were a race that the Saiyans found on another planet, who the Saiyans then started to bioengineer.
Rob wins.
Your explanation helps randomness...
( • _ • ): Grateful...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah that's an easy one:
Random Saiyan #5: Sir, the Saibamen race has been completely killed from all of the campaigns we've sent them on.
King Vegeta: Well make some more!

This song needs more love.Yeah, that COULD work as an explanation, were it not for the fact that, in this new interview, he states that they were NOT a weapon the Saiyans created, which is exactly what the Daizenshu and Tenkaichi said they were.
By the way, would Garlic Jr's immortality work as well as Zamasus? is regular Dragonball immortality as good as Super Dragonball immortality? If Garlic got completely de atomized, would he survive in a non corporial state like Zamasu?
jjjSo the only obvious explanation is that they were always plants...
Saiya-jins stole their seed...as monkeys often do...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I don't know. Maybe you could try and handwave it as them starting off as a race that the Saiyans later bioengineered, or they started off as plants that they transformed, but if that's the case, he should have been more clear. I personally chalk it up to his poor memory, as he has contradicted himself before. Maybe when someone sees him again, they can try to ask him to clarify if both statements are true, or if he forgot.
Personally, I want to know other things, like stuff about Frieza's race. I would like to know more about Frieza's past. Why do people never ask those questions?
jjjNot really. All that stuff follows pretty logically from "can put working zippers on anything". If you want to talk bullshit, Gold Experience is right there.

I'm using Bruno because he's the one commonly referenced as being an intelligent and creative use of powers.
None of what I said is logical at all. The creation of extra dimensional space? The ability to both harmlessly separate things (like Law from One Piece) and separate things as though they were cut? Healing people? Those are all Required Secondary Powers that are a bigger part of his powers than the supposed "primary" power.
Creating working zippers on things would only make sense to connect two things together, or create an opening that does not lead to an extradimensional space. That way, the Required Secondary Powers are actually... secondary.
Personally, I like the explanation of Saibamen being attack plants found on another planet better than them being made in a Saiyan bio-engineering laboratory. Partially because I cannot imagine the existence of a Saiyan bio-engineering laboratory. Stealing super-powerful creatures from another planet sounds more like something Saiyans would do.
Hey, when watching Jiren, does anyone else get the impression that he enjoys showboating his strength just as much as the other Prode Troopers do, but in a different way? The entire reason he fought Goku like he did was to demoralize the rest of the fighters by making a show of completely overwhelming and defeating the most notable person in the arena.
From crushing Goku into the ground with his foot, to his arm-fold every time he blasts an opponent with that one move of his, to telling Goku that he'll wait for him to prepare the Spirit Bomb at maximum power, to looking Goku dead in the eye and telling him that he's not worth his time. Jiren's not about the posing like Toppo, but it definitely feels like he enjoys making a show of being the biggest, baddest motherfucker in the room, and he'll make sure everyone knows it too.

Creating spaces where there is none is a bit above and beyond, true, but everything else makes perfect sense. The "healing" he does is more zipping a wound shut than actually fixing the problem, and lethally splitting someone apart would be as simple as deactivating the zipper after the split happens. And nothing space is not exactly a vital part of his moveset so acting like it negates all the creative applications is silly.
I think you're misunderstanding my point. Those abilities fit the theme of zippers (to an extent), but they're not naturally part of the ability to create zippers. You shouldn't assume someone who can 'create zippers' can do all of those things, because they require more than that basic level to function.
It's creative in a different way. Araki managed to give him a diverse power set themed around zippers, but it's absolutely not a mundane power like people try to make it out to be, it's incredibly powerful because of the special abilities his zippers possess. In effect, he has multiple powers, because his zippers have different properties when using them for different things.
It's not really any more clever than just giving a character similar abilities without the theme.
Since he's not purely mechanical, he could probably get something out of it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's a medium power stand. Its not as weak as it's powers would seem at first glance but it's not a super heavy hitter either.
What people are impressed by us Bruno's creativity with it, and you only need to see the Prosicutto and Pesci fight to see that.
If you want an example of a stand that is very very seemingly weak at first glance look no further than Jolyene's "can turn herself into string". That's literally all her power is aside from a pretty decent punch ghost and she's insanely deadly with it.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I thought they were just talking about fighting mechanics.

Goku is an anomaly in every sense of the word.
