I honestly think people have let groups like TFS color their perceptions of these characters a bit too much. Raditz was still more than twice as strong than both of the strongest beings on the Earth at the time, and absolutely dominated Goku and Piccolo.
They only won by quick thinking, and even then, Goku had to sacrifice himself to do it. It feels less like Raditz was weak and more that Vegeta and Nappa were just freakishly strong.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Impressive? Having a Power Level of 100 makes you the World's Strongest Man! Roshi was known for being the strongest martial artist on Earth before the series started and aside from Taopaipai, they were right!

My various fanfics.Could do without the personal insults. If that's high for a Saiyan then they wouldn't really be that exceptional - Oozaru form aside which has tons and tons of drawbacks.
Yes, he was far far stronger than anyone on Earth but Earth is not a galatic player at all till everyone started settling down there. One of those random namek soldiers who destroyed Freeza's scouters could kill Raditz, I'm pretty sure.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Nail was an outlier for a Namek so I specifically excluded him. I was just comparing Raditz to the average warrior of a race that isn't solely about war.
Either way, it's hardly just an impression caused by memes.

Okay, but if you tell people "No. Ignore what was clearly stated in the show you watched. You're wrong because of this entry in some obscure interview or guidebook" and expect to be taken seriously, that's not going to go well. Especially because the difference in power after the retcon isn't even that much to begin with, so it comes off like you're trying to shut down people based on semantics.
Vegeta was an arrogant shit, and was probably fed a lot of propaganda about the awesomeness of his race from his dad.
One Strip! One Strip!

Honestly my biggest problem with this isn't that Raditz is apparently strong for a Saiyan it's that apparently Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta were a team before they were the only Saiyans left in Frieza's army and thus, whoever decided that was a moron. I'm pretty sure Radish would be way more a liability than an asset to those two.
