(2) I'll find the video where Masako explains the pairing as soon as I'm done with Part 8's. It's... somewhere in the series.
But yeah, Raditz meets Launch at some point I guess and they have a daughter named Raunch. I think. It's cute. Kind of.
Eh. I might be rooting for the underdog here, but I kind of like it. Represents Raditz still being a Saiyan, but also becoming an ally to Goku. Unlike Vegeta, in this scenario, Raditz isn't too proud to beg for his life to be close to Goku.
It's the blue hair that's shocking.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So like, is there any actual logic in that pairing beyond Launch being the only single female heroic character?
This song needs more love.Pair the spares, probably.
Raditz goes native and Launch is around somewhere. I'm not sure exactly what the reasoning was. I'll link to the part where he explains it... once I go back through... all 8 videos...
There's not exactly any logic to Vegeta/Bulma either, so I wasn't too bothered by it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Karrot + Chi Chi = Childhood acquaintances
Veggie + Blooma = Spontaneous Sexual Fling
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Gohan somehow being in Freeza's army is a bizarrely common fanfic idea, considering how specific it is.
You know what would be interesting? Having the Tournament of Power exactly the same, except the decisions the fighters make on who to fight are different, changing how the arc plays out (without changing the Power Levels or capabilities of any of the fighters).
Imagine a whole episode dedicated to Bergamo vs Ribrianne, that turns into a gigantic kaiju battle eventually. Or Lavenda blinding Majora with his poison, only to realize that Majora is always blind and can tell exactly where he is by the scent of his poison on his hands. Maybe have Vikal engage Lilibeu and Jim in a massive aerial dogfight.
Raditz was the first villain introduced after Piccolo, and he manhandled the two strongest characters in the series at the time. With ease. He no-sold an attack from Piccolo and kneed Goku in the stomach hard enough to leave him completely helpless.
It's bizarre how Raditz gets so much sh't. He was an Implacable Man for most of his introduction. If you read the manga he's not even a Starter Villain, since the manga just kept going from Bulma and Goku's first meeting to the Buu Saga.
"Nobody watched Dragonball" might have some hint of truth to if you only watched the anime, and it might make Raditz seem like a joke, but Raditz wasn't just "the first villain the heroes beat," in the manga, more like the 10th or 12th, and he was the strongest until Nappa and Vegeta were introduced.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yeah.
I suspect that this is because for all the dominance he displayed in their fight, Raditz was essentially a big fish in a small pond on Earth. He was only as powerful as he was due to everyone else being so weak by comparison, and when Nappa and Vegeta show up, we realize just how deeply in shit they are because they promptly toss out Mooks as strong as the dude who's arrival completely shook up everything.
One Strip! One Strip! He's still a Starter Villain, as he's meant to be the villain who introduces the characters to the new concepts and plotlines that the series was going to be centered around going forward, and there was little to him beyond that. At best he's an Arc Villain, but that's not really accurate as he's really just the first antagonist of that arc.
He's a Saiyan with the powerlevel of a Saibaman and he's also not a brilliant technical fighter. Yes, he's dangerous, but he's nowhere near as dangerous as that potential says he should be.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Question: do you think Ultra Instinct changes Goku's hair color, or is it just really shiny and reflecting the aura? Like, if Future Trunks and Roshi went Ultra Instinct, would Trunks' hair remain blue and Roshi's beard remain white, or would they change to the same black with blue highlights as Goku's hair?

Gohan's the single member of the cast least likely to go Majin.
