Which is where some of the backlash against her comes from. In the opening she’s portrayed as a legitimate threat and someone who can fight Vegeta seriously when she’s actually a joke who gets beaten easily multiple times yet still sticks around spouting more or less the exact same lines about “love”. And considering the number of characters in the TOP who get next to no focus or characterization it’s honestly baffling.

Do you know what people want the most? Something somebody else has.Technically, there was the Original Super Saiyan God, but that Saiyan is long dead and forgotten by history.
You know what'd be cool? An animated special covering the Super Saiyan 1,000 years ago who destroyed Planet Sadal and the Original Super Saiyan God who, long ago, fought against the evil Saiyan elites as Oozaru and lost from running out of the time limit. Maybe even tie their stories together, somehow.

I'm still going off of my interpretation of the lyrics in the full opening, which pretty clearly spell out how the arc is going to end to me: Goku gets eliminated and he cheers on Gohan to break through his sadness and fight as a warrior. Gohan takes a powerful hit and gets back up, surprising Goku (which, given what we know from the Special, is almost certainly Gohan taking a hit that would kill him but he unlocks Ultra Instinct to survive it). Gohan then fights in the climax of the tournament (probably against Jiren), making Beerus look puny in the process.
I'm not even a Gohan fanboy, this is just what I get from the full OP's lyrics.

Gohand can't win though...soooooo?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Is it ever explained why she becomes fat? The other two keep the same general figure.
Vegeta's fighting her as a Super Saiyan in the opening, so I wouldn't call that serious.

In-universe, probably not. Out, well, it's certainly unique, and it's a Call Back to Zarbon.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Thats tricky. Its like how Goku is responsible for a lot of bad parts (like his constant sand-bagging) but also for a lot of good parts (Ultra Instinct)
Unless the ending is really bad its gonna come down to personal taste in the end.
Also Ribra's transformation is weird. She looks so hugely different compared to her teammates it makes ya wonder whats the deal.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I assume the massive difference between Briane and Ribrianne comes entirely from Rule of Funny.
Magical Girls don't normally look like that, so she does. It's all part of Toriyama's usual methods.
One Strip! One Strip!Depends on how the arc wraps up I suppose. The big Goku/Jiren 1 hour special broke Crunchyroll and Funimation's websites so there's definitely a lot of good will earn during this arc.

I just like the idea of Vegeta fighting someone with a clownish appearance. He's been calling Goku that for years and here he is, fighting Ribrianne in the opening.
