That narrator part was in the original too wasn't it?

Though I think Dub narrator was way more annoyed than Japanese Narrator was.

What really hate is how Super attempts certain aspects Goku's personality but it doubles back on it after they realize it would make Goku too unlikable. Goku is not Superman but he is a hero, just not a Superman type hero.

Goku is a good guy, he just has tunnel vision once he believes there's training or a fight to be had.

Really he's more like wonder woman, just as likely to befriend his enemies as he is to defeat them.

So a random youtube comment reminded me of a word I don't see used too often: Omnifarious (oddly relevant considering the character that used the word was from a show that was later a DC property.) Superpower wiki classifies it as shapeshifting, but its actual definition is "Many forms or variations" which makes me realize I can now sum up my problems with Z into one word. So that's fun.

What Dragonball antagonists do you think are insane prodigies and which do you think actually trained to be strong, asides from the ones we know haven't trained like Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu

I thought I was the only one who remembered that episode of Static Shock.

Hmmm. Dragon ball has been many things: Adventure, Martial Arts, Comedy, Science Fiction, etc, etc. I suppose that's the problem when the Author has no real direction in mind, but it wouldn't be the series it is today if it had stuck to one thing either.

[up][up][up] Static Shock?

[nja]

[up][up] I feel like I remember reading that Burter became "fastest in the universe" for some goofy reason, so I guess he trained?

Goku can teleport. Anyone who can teleport is automatically the fastest in the universe.

Burter's claim never held any water anyway. Both Ginyu and Freeza were faster than him. And since Guldo could stop time, he was technically faster than all of them combined.

Do you think Ginyu pretended to be slower than Burter to make him feel better?

Why did anyone take Burter's word at face value? He was just boasting to look tough like any generic antagonist and then got snuffed by Goku.

[up]x7 Huh so Goku is more like Wonder Woman.

I never thought about that, its an interesting thought.

[up][up] Well in the Abridged they totally did.

Ginyu also called Burter in the fastest in the universe though, so it just seemed like a thing the team accepted. Unless, humorously, Ginyu was just hiding how fast he was to spare Burter's feelings. But Frieza is just an unavoidable rock.

Yeah. Burter claiming to be the fastest in the universe was always odd when the author had established that the one with the most ki was both the strongest and the fastest.

I rationalize it as Burter was the fastest when it came to general movement like he could race around the planet faster than Ginyu or Frieza, but he lacked the reflexes to fully utilize the skill in combat. Mostly it's because I liked the idea that the Ginyu force was the best example of how power levels weren't everything, even within the Frieza force. Guldo was weak in power but had hard to counter techniques. Recoome had durability, Burter couldn't be outrun, Jeice had powerful ki attacks, and Ginyu could steal bodies, all of them were threats for things that didn't directly related to their power level. Goku trumping them showed that he wasn't just stronger, he was also faster, more durable and better with ki thanks to his training.

So now what about Dyspo's speed in comparison to Toppo and Jiren?

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

[up] Again, Dyspo seems legitimately faster when it comes to getting from point A to point B, but Jirens weird "If I can see it, It's punched" technique is probably faster than Dyspo can ever hit something. And Goku's Ultra Instinct is fast enough to counter Dyspo, but it could just be a reflex thing.

Basically, DB seems to work on the logic of Speed and Agility being two separate stats.

Having the most ki doesn't automatically make you the fastest. Trunks showed that off nicely.

Not that Burter really was the fastest or anything, just that more ki does not necessarily equal more speed.
