Vegeta literally got the transformation off-screen and when you think about it, how Goku helped Gohan achieve the form really isn't that much different than how Vegeta did with Cabba. Granted, the build up was different since Gohan was an established character for years,
They can't even bother to give a decent explanation in Vegeta's case.
They could have just said he used the God ritual to unlock God mode but noooooo he somehow trained hard enough to get it.
Its bullshit because why won't you use the easy canon method, unlocking it via training doesn't make him look badass it just makes things look questionable.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well that's how Toriyama did it.
I mean, the only thing about it that makes sense is that Vegeta would want to get it on his own without a ritual. He shouldn't be able to, but considering who we're talking about I'm not surprised he'd try anyway.
Edit: A random question.
Why did Goku want Gohan to become a Super Saiyan again? I mean, this was before the Cell Games were announced, and even before Cell became perfect. There was no real point to it outside of having another Super Saiyan to spar with.

One Strip! One Strip!Oh, that reminds me, did anyone notice that the original super Saiyan god backstory in Battle of gods and the U7 Sadala backstory kindof fixes that Plot Hole from Z filler where King Kai claims the Saiyans home planet was destroyed when the planets Kami, a pure-hearted Saiyan called down a meteor shower? Like if we assume that King Kai just mixed up Vegeta and Sadala, or intentionally told of Sadalas destruction to avoid telling Goku about Frieza, the stories kindof match up. Now, I know that's probably not what they were going for, but considering the original concept SSG was going to have a cape and what we see of the Kami of the Saiyan Planet showed they had a cape... It's just something I found interesting....
Well knowing Goku, he probably just wanted his son to become a Super Saiyan so he'd have a sparring partner that actually lives in the same house as him.
Wonder if he thought something similar when he married chichi....

That actually does make sense. I mean, it's only after Gohan became a Super Saiyan that Goku realized Gohan was stronger than him.
One Strip! One Strip!Okay time to watch a terrible movie!
I mean I am totally giving this a fair chance I am sure it could surprise me. I mean I am not prejudged against it at all it totally has an equal chance of being great as being completely awful sludge.
Stripper fairies and a crappy band made of plushies?

I think it was the point that he stumbled upon the Super Saiyan. The whole point at the time was intense rage or something.
