Aren't you the guy who said that Beerus was the ultimate evil in the entire series and that if they aren't constantly fighting against him and just accept the fact that they'll all die someday, why bother fighting any villains at all?
...Man, that was a while ago.
My various fanfics. No, I'm not. That was someone else. I might have said at the time that just giving up was stupid though.
Though to be fair Beerus is an unrepentant mass murderer on a scale literally impossible to fathom so it does seem like a reasonable position if you want to take actually take the character entirely seriously. Which I don't. So whatever.
Anyway, Beerus/Whis naptime scene changed to a Mai/Trunks scene so I quit watching right there. I'll watch Freeza movie when I get a chance. I expect that I'll hate every second of it.
Or, just... don't watch it. Like, it sounds like you got through twenty minutes of the movie. So... like... don't do a thing you hate just to come over here and tell us how awful it is. The market is already flush with Anti-Super sentiment, it's basically just PMC by himself selling positivity out of the back of a fruit cart.
My various fanfics.Even if you accept that logic, doesn't he destroy far more than is actually required of his job? And why can't he destroy uninhabited planets? And why are the ones that get destroyed always ones that just happened to piss him off for incredibly petty reasons?
^ What do you mean? I finished the movie. I got the end with Beerus taking a three year nap and then I saw Mai and Trunks in a tree, which I figured was a scene that was shipping them and ew ew ew no.
Also, if people are being critical of Super, maybe that's because it's bad. I don't know, I haven't watched it yet., but it seems very likely to me.

Okay I can't defend him there. I can't go into exact detail about this unless you want spoilers but he is in fact terrible at his job. His constant sleeping is only one of his major flaws. He is a horrible destroyer & while you may be right that he needs to die they can't do anything about it at the moment.
Also I think they cut out some of the Trunks/Mai stuff in the Super adaptation, did they?
Again Super improves I believe. I mean it has its controversial story decisions every arc but still there are plenty of good moments all around especially in the current arc where Goku is a total boss.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We don't know why the Hakaishin only destroy inhabited planets, but it's probably the same reason Galactus only eat inhabited planets.(the life energy of the planet itself, rather than the planet)
Edit: On second thought, it's probably related to mortal levels. Kaioshin design the species and watch them progress, and the Hakaishin destroys those that don't make the cut.

Yeah, claiming that I'm the only person who likes Super is just evidence that you don't pay any attention to the fanbase whatsoever. Super is MASSIVELY popular, even surpassing One Piece's ratings occasionally. Hell, claiming that I'm the only person who likes Super here is still wrong, just look at the above posts!

For what it's worth, I do think that Beerus is a great character. An awful hakaishin, but an endlessly entertaining one. His squabbles with Champa always get a laugh out of me, and he's also really enjoyable when he plays the exasperated straight man to the simple-minded Blood Knight Goku. That, and I love just how shamelessly petty he was in the Battle of Gods movie/arc. His pudding rant to Gotenks was one of the funniest moments in the series.
I like Super too!

No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans! It's alright. The biggest problem with Super right now is pacing.
If you liked the original anime, you might not feel the same "oomph" when people get punched or kicked in Super, but while there are some animation hiccups here and there, when Super gets good, it gets really good. You just have to wait 3-4 episodes between the really good parts. Everyone's been talking about one of the fights recently which, despite me not liking the ending to it, was really well-animated.
You'll get some character interactions that you wouldn't have gotten before and some head-tilting comedy.
Like someone else said, if you liked Dragonball/Z, you probably won't hate this. If the voice bothers you that much, either don't watch it (read the manga), or wait for the dub to catch up. That's what I keep trying to do, but then someone tells me GOKU JUST PUNCHED GOD IN THE FACE WITH HIS NEW FORM and I'm like, "F'ck," and run off to Youtube.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I love how everyone was talking about how Beerus seems like a guy who'd be terrible at his job, and then the most recent arc revealed that he actually is. It makes Dragon Ball's pantheon so much more interesting knowing the way it actually functions and how the Kaioshin and Hakaishin are supposed to work with each other for the betterment of their universe. Also learning that our only example of a god of destruction is a bad one and it makes sense that he'd be bad is a great reveal.
I also really love that, when we're given biographies for the other gods, you can see exactly where they go wrong and where they go right. Just learning short snippets about them reveals how to have a good mortal level and how not to have a good mortal level. The series doesn't just tell you which universes are good and which are bad and leave it there, it actually gives the gods little personality quirks that show how their universes are good or bad and what makes them good or bad.

I don't do that, either. I'll call out Super when it does something stupid, and I won't be nearly as enthusiastic about an episode if it had enough stuff in it I didn't like. I just happen to vastly prefer talking about the stuff I like over the stuff I don't. Maybe it'd be fair to say that I like Super more than a majority of regular posters here, but that statement doesn't really hold much weight.
I'm not sure even BOG stands on par with the best Dragonball arcs and it's supposed to be one of the best parts of Super, right? I am not exactly looking forward to the return of Freeza.
GAP: Totally inconsistent power levels seem like a serious issue to me though.
Well, I'll reserve more comments on the quality of Super until tonight when I can watch the next movie.
The movies and their retellings are really more of a prologue to the main part of Super in my opinion. They do more of a job setting up Beerus, Whis, and other elements that will be used later than actually digging into them.

This song needs more love.

Dragon Ball was fine...
Dragon Z was the slowness...
