Since I'm not sure it's been discussed yet, I've really been digging the score for this arc. The Ultra Instinct theme and the fight theme used for Goku's fights with Jiren and Kefla have been top notch.

The music has been really good. Super's music overall is quite good. That choir song never fails to get me hyped to see Super Saiyan God or Blue, and when used right it makes the forms really feel like something otherworldly and divine, like when Vegeta used it against Cabba.

This is probably the parody closest to the actual episode. [lol]

I dunno, that scene has Jerry buffed up and tanking hits. The whole conceit of Ultra Instinct is that you're not even getting hit in the first place.

Ultra Instinct Shaggy is a closer example.

That's Jerry going Jiren, if anything...

Jerin? Jyrre?

I just thought of this but what if for Xenoverse 3 if it does cover the Tournament for the fight against Jiren to turn into a massive raid boss fight where tons of players just converge on him in an all vs. one match.

Would that be cool & would it be overkill if all the players have Ultra Instinct?

If it happens, they better play the song, otherwise Rob riots.

Oh god, I just imagined Supervillain Jiren. Imagine that kind of power, but twisted for evil and amplified EVEN MORE. Than again, it might be cooler for him to pull a Beerus and just shrug off the mind-control...

Jiren doesn't have God Ki, so that can't really happen.

Wasn't that just for Demigra's thing from Xenoverse 1 that turned characters Villainous? I'm talking about Towa's Supervillain power up from 2, similar but not necessarily the same.

Still doesn't work on people with God Ki, I believe. But she'd be silly to have tried that anyways.

The only god Demigra ever tried it on was Beerus. So we don't know if it's a god thing or a Beerus thing that lets him ignore it.

Also, Jiren physically broke through a localized field of stopped time, somehow. Even if he doesn't have Godly Ki, I wouldn't put it past him to be able to break out of mental possession by sheer physics-breaking power alone.

Jiren's somehow on the level of a being with God Ki despite not having it himself.

So is Freeza. Then Hit, Gohan, and 17 after him. It's not that big of a deal.

Freeza and the others are still below god-level (or at least God of Destruction level). Jiren is suggested to be on par with the Destroyers, which is a tier above anyone else at this point (with the exception of Shiny White Goku).

It's definitely a God Ki thing. Demigra couldn't affect Goku either because he had God Ki, and it's specifically brought up.

I should clarify, despite my long posts detailing my misgivings, and the fact I could type many more posts of similar lengths whenever I felt like it, I have enjoyed pretty much all Dragon Ball Super Champa saga to recruitment for tournament of power. I'm glad I've missed most of the spoilers. I knew #17 got stronger, for instance, but to give blue Goku a decent fight?, I did not see that coming, 17 stronger than post training Buu? I figured he'd keep pace with Piccolo, at best. Also, space poachers almost had me laughing out loud.

But with that out of the way, I've been kind of reluctant to go forward with "Super" since that episode. I didn't buy "Super 17" of GT and though I found that little bit more enjoyable than that entire "saga", it still brings back some bad memories. Part of the reason I can think of so many alternative fighters is because of my "why 17" reaction back then. I can see I'm starting to fall really behind now, so I'm going to watch episode 87 as soon a I hit 'send'.

Didn't Chronoa say she wanted a Time-Space Tournament with fighters from all over time? What if the next Xenoverse does that, while also doing a spin on the Tournament of Power. Hell, even add a few elements from Dragon Ball Fusion's Time-Space Tournament, such as adding some of that game's OC's (and the Conton City citizens) as fodder characters with random movesets, and your CAC's job is to recruit a team for the Xeno Time-Space Tournament!

While I know having 80 characters in the same arena may seem intensive for a fighting game, I have an idea for how they could get around that while using a mechanic from other games. Just like how FighterZ and Tenkaichi let you have a team of characters you could switch between, maybe Dimps could add something similar except with letting you have up to 10 characters on your tag-team. That way, they can have only 8 characters on screen at a time, and each player can switch between their 10-person team.

Or they have those time portals between different areas of the TOP stage, to justify not everyone being present at once.

[up][up][up]17's actually been a really fun character in the Tournament of Power.

I'm sure, it just begs the question. Future 17 wasn't exactly sitting on his hands either. What has present 17 been doing that's so much tougher than wiping out civilization and fending off super saiyans?

Well, I'll be on 88 soon. I'm not letting that question stop me from going forward anymore. I can't believe "Super" made it to 100 episodes, but as long as it remains fun I guess it can go as long as it wants.

To be fair, Present 17 was always stronger than Future 17.

This song needs more love.
