I know we're joking around, but that does make me think about the rules.
As far as Namekian fusion works he can't do it forcibly (at least, barring a retcon), but lets say Piccolo and the U6 Namekians decide to collude and fuse together for self preservation. Is the person being absorbed as a power booster "dead" for the purposes of the Tournament's rules? If they're not, they're also technically not eliminated - but the remaining Namekian obviously can't represent both universes. Hmm...
Also, lets say Piccolo fuses with the U6 Namekians and becomes way stronger. If the rest of U6 is eliminated and U6 is erased, does Piccolo lose that powerup?

I've been going on about Powered Armour for years myself.
And this is when she had blueprints of 17 and 18's functions (letting her create the remote) and the opportunity to study 16 wholesale (while repairing him).
It says a lot about how complicated Gero's tech is that someone like Bulma (and her dad) couldn't make heads or tails or it...the fact that the Z Warriors tend to utterly destroy any advanced tech that finds its way to Earth doesn't help, but then again, I assume that's Toriyama covering his bases to ensure Earth stays shitty in term of those sorts of things. Not that it would matter anyway.
Anyway, it all comes down to one simple thing: if Toriyama wants things to happen a certain way, he'll make it happen. If he wanted the humans to still be competitive, or for Bulma to created her own androids or powered armour for earth, they'd have it.
He doesn't, so humans get to do nothing but watch as more and more destructive forces come to their world to fuck it up, and they have to rely on two fight crazy dudes who mostly only care about having good fights or MAH PRIDE respectively to defend them.
One Strip! One Strip! They ain't wrong.
The difference is, I get the feeling Toppo doesn't care about being second fiddle, while poor Vegeta constantly has that gold ring just out of reach, despite all his efforts, and his legitimate power.
One Strip! One Strip!I doubt that. Even if it looks like Vegeta is close, Goku will either reveal he has a new power that puts him miles ahead, or will discover that power just like with Super Saiyan 3 and Ultra instinct respectively.
One Strip! One Strip! And the gap between Vegeta and Goku is obviously going to become super huge again once Goku masters Ultra Instinct. I mean, until they give Vegeta that out of the blue too.
Which come to think of it is kind of how all of Vegeta's power ups work. They can give a hand-wave about it, but once Goku achieves a new level, I don't think we've ever actually seen Vegeta work to achieve the same thing, some time just passes and it's revealed he's done it. Super Saiyan Blue is just the most egregious example.
Rude. They just haven't had much screentime. From what we know about them, they're fighters who specialize in teamwork with each other and they're pragmatists who won't hesitate to shoot an opponent when they're not looking. That's not much, but it isn't nothing. For all we know, they could turn out to be immensely entertaining and fun characters who can serve as U6 rivals to Piccolo.
Besides, I don't think the writers want Piccolo to suddenly be as strong as a Super Saiyan God. That's not really consistent with how they're writing him, unlike half of the U7 team, he hasn't been hyped up as a heavy hitter in the Tournament of Power.
About what? Their characters? The teamwork thing is on their official bios and I'm basing the pragmatic thing on them attempting to shoot Goku in the back.
I think it's rude to immediately assume "new Namekian characters? They must only exist to fuse into Piccolo and make him stronger, not actually exist to be like the Cabba and Caulifla of Namekians and give Piccolo some people he can relate to and hang out with from U6."
It's not like anyone's interested in seeing and getting a tour of U6 Namek during the same arc we inevitably go to Planet Sadal and Piccolo having some new Namekian friends would be the perfect opportunity for that, right? Nah, people only want to see Piccolo cannibalize every other Namekian fighter in the series just to make himself stronger.
The character bio thing is interesting but not something you should expect most of us to be aware of.
And, sorry, but we can't be rude to characters, their feelings can't be hurt. Especially when we haven't actually said anything negative to them, just commenting on their treatment (or lack-thereof) so far.
Whether people would be interesting in those things are not has no bearing on what it seems like the show is doing with them. Whether Piccolo fuses with them or not, they just haven't been made out to be important, and it stands out.

Their existences at the moment are cheap fanservice, nothing else.
They prolly thought when they made them that in a universe with alternate Saiyan's & a Frieza they should add in some Namekian's for the Hell of it so people would go "Ooooooh look its some Namekian's, how nice."
You could replace them for any other alien species & it wouldn't make a difference.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."At least it's just three out of ten wasted in Universe 6, not all like Universe 3
I also dislike the idea that Piccolo will fuse with the U 6 Namekians, but I don't give a shit about their characters.
I am also with Shlugo about the human characters being phased out. That's something I like about DB, the cast was always changing over time. For me, bringing back older characters is such a huge step backward for the series.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.
