How is the Lat AM dub farther than the English dub, when it started later than the English dub?
Ha ha ha. What a story, Mark.He only uses the Kamehameha in the manga, and he learns that as Fat Boo.
He doesn't absorb the previous villains, just kills them. As for fighting the same heroes, that's a joke - the cast didn't change that much between two arcs, big surprise! And that's also deliberately ignoring Goten or acting like Gotenks is just Trunks' form. And he never fought Piccolo. And he killed Yamcha who Cell never fought. Etc
His personality is still not like Cell even with absorptions. It's just that he acts more composed, and people don't seem that distinct when they're being composed. But Cell would never attempt to interrupt Goku/Vegeta's fusions and Boo's outburts reveal his real personality is in tact.

I think the interesting villain theory applies to Frieza. As a villain in Resurrection F? Nothing special.
As an ally in the Tournament? Freaking interesting. Reminds me of the Namek saga, with Vegeta as the rogue ally, but unlike Frieza, Vegeta wasn't as sadistic (Since he was facing a more evil oponent, Jiren is nothing of that sort).
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I'd say, "created by an evil scientist" and "created by an evil magic scientist" are similar enough to cry foul. The backstory is usually what most people talked about in terms of Buu being too similar to Cell, back before Akira retconned Buu's backstory to be a combination of Beerus and Demon King Piccolo's.
Also Picclo did fight Buu, he assited Gotenks with the volley ball attack, and shot a few key blasts at buu bits, both of which were in the manga by the way. I don'te remember yamcha even being in the Buu arc (completely serious, I remember his outfit during the arc, but don't remember seeing him after babidi showed up) but I'm pretty sure if Buu turning him into candy counts as a fight, so does Yamcha fighting the cell junoirs or tossing a ki blast durning the beam struggle along with tien and vegeta.

Piccolo's involvement isn't a fight, and Yamcha fought a Cell Jnr, not Cell. And Yamcha attacking Cell is anime only.
Even if they fought the exact same people, the characters aren't the same at all.
@Pushover Badidi being a scientist isn't from the manga. Boo is an accidental, magical creation by a wizard, and not the same one who the heroes fought. You have to get really broad to call them similar, which kind of defeats the point of trying to draw similarities

Yeah, but I remember tien dodging buus genocide rain attack, I remember chichi gettign turned into an egg, i remember OX KING being on the look out because at the time I had no idea who he was(my library was missing parts of the pilaf, piccolo, and cell arcs. And I started with the red ribbon arc in the anime), but I do not remember Yamcha being there, which is hilarious to me considering the memes.
You were the one who brought up yamcha as a counter to me saying buu fought the same people, why are you trying to invalidate your own argument? And no, theres nothing broad about Buu matching everything we saw with Cell, just in a different order. Heck, if we belive that the original plan was for Ultimate gohan to be the one to beat Buu it would have been even more of an obvious comparison. You could argue that the similiarities are mostly with the arc, not the character, except it's only once buu and cell are alone that the simularities really beging to crop up.

By the by, my friend got an idea for a Crack Fic of Super: Vegeta does something similar to Goku about hiring Hit, only instead of fighting, he is hiring Hit to babysit baby Bra while he trains with Whis. And Cabba is there too because he offered himself for free (He would babysit shishio's daughter how cool is that?!)
Now I wish someone does a fic of that.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. Why would you ask someone who literally kills for money, and is from a different universe, to watch your child?
My various fanfics.Besides Why WOULDN'T you hire someone like hit to protect your baby girl? I mean, if he's take the job, he'd be the best bet at keeping her safe.
Probably because at this point, stronger villains mean the only solution is Goku or Vegeta getting anew form that makes them strong enough to win, or future trunks, if he's available. Which he really should always be, there's nothing to do in his timeline.

I didn't mean that stronger villains are boring, I mean that interesting villains lose what makes them interesting as they get stronger.
Compare Imperfect Cell to Perfect Cell. Imperfect was actually kind of terrifying and preferred to remain in the shadows while he slowly gathered strength. He also had fantastic build-up. Perfect is just an Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy (albeit one that's fun to watch). The same applies to Super Buu with Gohan Absorbed and Fat Buu. There's also Golden Frieza vs. First Form Frieza (a Goku-obsessed guy who fails at stamina vs. the Dreaded). It generally doesn't apply to heroes though, because Goku remains fairly static the whole time while Vegeta definitely improves with time and Gohan got better as he got stronger in the Cell Saga.

I think he's referring to after he started absorbing the main characters; Super Buu does have a similar cavalier attitude to Cell...albeit mixed in with Buu's chiildishness.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
