That was in response to Yakuzu
I'm baffled by the sudden desire to bring back Frieza and try and keep him competitive.
Every other time Toriyama has brought back a previous villain, they've been less of a threat, despite getting stronger (Frieza himself being on that list).
I mean, in most cases when he brings back old threats, he has the heroes easily stomp them to show just how far they've fallen behind (with poor cyborg Tao Pai Pai being the first on that list, despite becoming a cyborg being a pretty cool thing).
But now, he decides that Frieza suddenly deserves to be on the same tier as everyone else, and just suddenly has him train to be on the same level as Goku and Vegeta. It's odd, because that's never been his style.
I guess he just likes Frieza a lot and thinks he can get some good development out of him.
One Strip! One Strip! To be fair, Toriyama only thought of doing that because he listened to "F" by Maximum the Hormone.

I agree.
Maybe he brought him back just because of that song like ![]()
said, but doing it again must be part of some big plan. I'm curious to see where they'll go with it.
Still should have used Buu.
One Strip! One Strip! No they dont. This can easily be "Freeza is popular, Freeza is more nostalgic, we like freeza more"
They COULD use Boo, but there doesn't seem to be any willingness to actually do so
Edit: you really think back in 2015 Toriyama was planning even further ahead than this?

While I am a bit mad at Buu constantly getting shafted, I must admit I am having fun with Freeza being back in the cast.
Let's keep in mind that Resurrection F was really just meant to be a gigantic nostalgia-fest for the fans... I don't think they had decided to do a full-blown series when they were making that movie.
Super started airing about three months after RoF came out.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yea, I'm sure there's no grand plan behind Freeza's return. Toei and Toriyama like him and he's the series most iconic villain so...why not.
That said, they should retire him after this arc. I like Freeza, but I've had my fill of him. Too much of a good thing is never fine.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Just from the way he’s been written, I’ve been getting the impression that they’re trying to establish Freeza and his relationship with Goku as a more traditional archenemy dynamic, which... odd, as it’s something the series hasn’t ever really had before. I don’t know how much of that is Toei’s writing of the situation, though.
Which is absolutely infuriating. He really should not be treating Frieza with anything but contempt. Toei got it right with Goku not liking Frieza at all, even if he still didn't just fight with Vegeta to end the threat.
One Strip! One Strip! No, Goku very clearly treats Freeza way different than he does with anyone else. He knows he's dangerous, but he's willing to trust him for the sake of the universe.
And yea, I agree. They're very clearly playing up Freeza's as Goku's ultimate Arch-Enemy since ROF. I mean, it was there a bit before, but yea...it's way more pronounced.

Yeah but its not thinly-veiled disgust where you know he'd rather be anywhere than talking to him. There's still a measure of respect.
That's what makes there relationship special. Goku is an all-loving hero but Frieza is the only person he can truly despise & hate with all his being.
Nnnnnnnot really. He knew Freeza for one day, tried to spare him twice, got mad and all and when he returned he was pretty nonchalant and said 'yeah I was just gonna kill him this time around'.
He barely had any relationship with the guy before the new content. Whereas he admitted to truly hating Vegeta up until his death, so its not like its unusual for Goku to hate someone.
