Personally, I'm hoping that Freeza goes out fighting a good guy. I want the episode where he's eliminated to be one where he's the villain who you root against. Kafla could work, Jiren or Toppo as well, though I wanna see Ribrianne get a win under her belt, especially if, as the calendar indicated, she's set to be one of the major players in the end-game of the Tournament Of Power.
Frieza's presence here is interesting.
Yamcha started out as a bandit attacking Goku. Tenshinhan was an enemy from the rival school. Piccolo died a villain but his reincarnation became the friendly Piccolo we all know and love. Vegeta went through the longest redemption arc, not becoming a truly heroic character until the end of the Buu saga. Pretty much all the big threats (and some small ones) eventually became Goku's allies in the long run, which is an interesting theme for the franchise to run with. Frieza was the first major threat to be irredeemably evil and die without even the slightest semblance of a good person in there, unless you collectively count the Red Ribbon Army.
I'm not expecting them to turn Frieza into a good guy nor would I want that, and his cooperation here is just Pragmatic Villainy, but I would like to see him ultimately go out sincerely fighting for Universe 7 rather than do some kind of typical backstabbing. If only so we're actually rooting for him to win for once.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! They matter more than Cabba at least and are the ones everyone wants to see. Poor Cabba, I actualy do like him, his dorkiness is endearing in a way.
But yea, Freeza "beating" Gohan was a ruse, and beating Cabba doesn't really mean much. Beating Kale and Caulifa, especially if they're the last of Universe 6 standing, would be much more significant.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Also, anyone else think them framing his as the villain against Cabba was weird?
"Oh, he's challenging him while he's exhausted!...and, what you think opponents should give him time to rest?" He challenged him up front, didn't really torture him, and made it quick. What more were you expecting?
Related, the framing of a lot of these characters as needlessly sadistic doesn't really help with the sympathy factor.

Nah, didn't REALLY torture him. Just shot him a few times with death beams before blasting him out. Freeza's tortured other fighters SO much worse than Cabba that he should feel lucky to be alive right now!
On a sidenote: I was surprised to learn that Jimeze is still alive, considering how they made a point that Freeza leaving him mortally wounded and him dying after being eliminated wouldn't disqualify Freeza.
I'm just enjoying the irony of Frieza being a better teammate than Vegeta.
This song needs more love.

I hope we get to see Freeza vs. Kale at some point, for a couple reasons:

No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!
