I definitely think that the majority of complaints about her are rooted in sexism. What makes Ribrianne's magical girl shtick any different from Toppo's sentai hero shtick? She talks a lot, yeah, but not more so than some other characters, people also criticise Jiren for not talking enough, and "women talk too much" is an infamously sexist and bullshit argument.
What makes her a "thug"? Her weight? That she actually throws punches? That she has the gall to get angry at people for eliminating her teammates? Her wish to become a goddess, when becoming a god is a perfectly viable job in Dragon Ball? What about her personality and actions strike you as thuggish?
She and her team are an Affectionate Parody of Magical Girl tropes, in that their transformed states are less attractive than their normal forms, they're WAY over the top in espousing the virtues of love, and Ribrianne's attacks are shaped like giant hearts. The 'affectionate' part of the parody is that the story treats them like multi-dimensional characters with relatable personalities, doubts, and as viable competitors to win the tournament. They don't feel like "this is Dragon Ball making fun of magical girls" they feel like "this is how Dragon Ball would totally do magical girls".
Or maybe, just maybe, other people don't share your opinions on all of that for reasons that have been elaborated on multiple times?
You're crossing the line between acknowledging sexism and using accusations of sexism to shut down any opinion that you disagree with it.
I certainly agree with you that Ribrianne and her team aren't a Take That!, but I disagree with them being "relatable, three-dimensional characters" because I don't feel that way about most participants in this tournament.

So fun fact, Pirina's name is from the the Pilina genus of mollusks.
I assume there's some kind of Theme Naming going on for each team, sans Universes 6 and 7, but I'm not interested enough to look into it.
Has anyone else done so?
What do you think the angels' reaction to their universe being erased would be? Besides Sour and Cognac, we haven't seen anything personality-wise of them:
- Campari: The dynamic I get from Campari and Mosco is a close one, even if it's a translator thing. I think he'd be somewhat upset at his universe being erased, though mainly with Mosco
- Vados: She'd probably be neutral, but still miss Champa somewhat
- Whis: He's be upset at such great guys being wiped out
- Marcarita: Disappointment and mild aggravation at having "the best of the tournament" wiped from existence
I think it's interesting that Cognac was the only one of the exempt angels to be cold-sweated witnessing universal erasure. Arack is described as a thoughtful and compassionate god, I guess he may have learned it from his angel
@Gehayadren Oh. I apologize. Given the comment above yours on the last page I thought you were talking about Ribrianne, not Shantsa. Yeah, considering he has jets coming out of his back, 'fart bag' is a bit more accurate of a descriptor for him, though still a tad rude.
If I'm being honest, I really want them to just get to the invisibugs already and that's not going to happen until Shantsa is eliminated so I kind of agree here. I hope Shantsa gets a good showing before he's eliminated, though.

Cognac is Quitela's Angel of Universe 4. You're thinking of Cukatail. She's the Angel of Universe 5 who works with Arak.

Tupper is obvious, but what kitchenware are the other Universe 11 warriors named after?
Kinda curious about Universe 2 as well. Sirloin and Brianne de Chateau are obvious but I don't know what the others would be.
And Universe 3 probably doesn't have a naming theme, since Maji-Kayo is a word pun while Paparoni is a deli meat, unless you can think of some kind of relation between those.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Toppo = Pot (pronounced "Potto" in Japanese)
Jiren = Renji ("stove")
Dyspo = Disposal (as in the food disposal)
Kahseral = Casserole (the pot, not the food)
Kettol = Kettle
Cocotte = Cocotte (a type of oven)
Vuon = Oven
Zoiray = Reizoku ("refrigerator")
Kunshi = Sink (pronounced "shinku" in Japanese)

Old bag and Wind bag have very different connotations than "Fart bag".
