Makes you wonder how strong Ultra Instinct goku is compared to SSB Vegito.
Probably stronger. I bet even Blue vegito wouldn't do much to Jiren.
Watch SymphogearThis does indeed make me wonder how do Merged Zamasu, Vegetto Blue, Jiren and Ultra Instinct Goku compare. Although we need to consider that Ultra Instinct might have actually lasted for shorter time than the fusion. Well, we won't know for sure until Goku enters the form without help of a spirit bomb, and instead fuel the power on his own.
I am procastrinating, but not excessively I think.I wasn't sure if he was actually sad that Goku apparently died, or if he was just despairing since Goku getting taken out is pretty much a death sentence for Universe 7 as long as Jiren is around.
Vegeta, Freeza, and maybe Gohan are the other heavy-hitters on the team, but I doubt any of them are powerful enough to take on Jiren.

It's true that since the Saiyan Arc, Goku's win/loss record against the Arc Villain has been...a little wonky. I feel like Toriyama still thinks he's providing a twist by not having Goku win in the end.
Sometimes it's worked (losing to Beerus, since he not only got a new form, but it was a movie, where you'd expect him to win), and Hit, but sometimes it doesn't (Frieza should have never been a threat at all, and Zamasu managing to kill everyone in the end makes everything that Trunks went through utterly meaningless in the end).

One Strip! One Strip!
It is weird when you think about it that since Z, Freeza is still the only Big Bad Goku has definitively beaten 1v1.
A little late to the party, but my major beef with Ribrianne is that she keeps showing up and filling time even though its pretty clear she isn't actually a threat. Her gag isn't a bad one. However, she's clearly meant to fill time at this point and that's a little annoying.
On her design, I could care less. She looks like a character Toriyama designed. I've played to much Dragon Quest to care that she looks silly.
Seriously though, speaking of manga and anime differences, it seems like the God of Destruction stronger than Beerus, and thus the mortal stronger than them is going to be different between the two.
Like, the anime is making it clear that that refers to Belmond and Jiren, respectively, while in the manga is was that mouse god from Universe 4 who's name I can't remember.
So how different is Jiren and the tournament going to be between the two? I mean, it's entirely possible there could just be more than one mortal stronger than a God of Destruction, between two universes and no contradiction is made, but I don't think the build up is to that.
And on another note, seriously, where are Universe 6's Namekians? The bug guys from Universe 4 are probably just too small to see but no mention has even been made about the Namekians, even though everyone should know they're their doing things.

I think that's the heart of it more than anything else. It'd be one thing if the plot was treating her as a serious threat, but so far none of the main cast has actually taken her seriously. Vegeta got squicked, Android 17 decided to humor her, and Goku was more or less completely indifferent. The fact that she keeps avoiding elimination and continuing the same gag is the head scratcher.
