Although he did save Goku from being ambushed by Ribrianne, so maybe he was just saving his energy for that.
Speaking of Ribrianne, I just took a peek at the DBZ subreddit and...yeesh. People really hate her. From the episode discussion page:
I'm tempted to add an entry for her as The Scrappy on the YMMV page.
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!Wait why do people hate her so much? I find her to be pretty inoffensive.
This song needs more love.Ribrianne is one of my favorite new characters of this arc. Anyone saying she's annoying needs to take a good, hard look at themselves and ask if their opinion would be different if she looked more like her untransformed state. If it would, their opinion is invalid.

Well, I think that's part of the issue. A lot of people find her character design off-putting.
However, several people in the thread pointed out that she's a pretty shameless hypocrite, as we saw in the latest special. She got all huffy when Android 17 attacked her during her transformation, and yet she tried to ambush Goku, from behind no less, while he was prepping the Spirit Bomb.
Oh, yeah, and the part when she straight up murdered two drag queens for making fun of her.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Aaaand You Tube is glitching out. Couldn't even edit my original post to say this.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Ribrianne hate mostly came down to her being fat from what I was exposed to a few days ago. While there are other reason regarding her character, seeing the amount of love Cocette gets for her figure alone leads me to conclude no one would raise much of a fuss if Ribrianne kept her base form all the time.

W-why do you guys have the same exact post?
Anyway, Ribrianne has been a nuisance, which is probably why she's hated. Im sure a lot of it has something to do with her design (Which is off putting), but for the most part, she's just been shoving herself into other people's business. And the constant ranting about love too.
She's gone straight past parody into being just plain old annoying and I rolled my eyes any time she was on screen these episodes
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Nah, it's because she's annoying loudmouth hypocrite who spouts out the same lines over and over again well after the novelty wore off. She's also a selfish narcissistic shallow thug who acts like she's a heroine.
She's pretty much a joke character who overstayed her welcome.
But sure feel free to construct a straw man of people who don't like her and feel good about yourselves for rebuking it.

You do realize that telling people they are constructing nothing but strawman arguments is in itself a strawman argument against their opinion, right?
These two episodes are the only two I've seen with Ribrianne in them and I already hate her. The joke was okay at first but, like others have said, she's overstayed her welcome. The fact that I find her design to be off-putting doesn't help matters since she only looks that way as a joke.
To everyone throwing the word "strawman" around:

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Fat Buu looked the way he did as a joke, too.
So Its nothing really all that new. The joke is different, at least, but its not irrelevant, considering Toei has the Pretty Cure series under its belt to pull from to parody.
A legit Pretty Cure Dimension being a part of the tournament of power would make for an interesting Crossover.
Watch SymphogearIf Ribrianne was parodying Pretty Cure specifically, she might be interesting. However, she's not so she's not.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I have no problem with Ribrianne's design, though I am kinda growing sick of the love spouting.
Her design is good to me, even as someone who prefers slimmer looks, because it's pretty unique to Dragonball (and to anime as a whole really).
One Strip! One Strip!
Thats news to me. A lot of people I've seen online consider it to be one of their favrorte forms alongside Kid buu.
@ Zelenal: All of her attacks are precure based. And if she was a sailor moon parody, she wouldn't be doing any physical attacks whatsoever.

Watch SymphogearA lot of the arrow attacks she uses tend to be used by Precure protagonists. Sailor moon uses more rod based moves. Hell, despite being the first Super Sentai styled Magical girl series, There's not a lot of hand to hand combat, and its generally seen as useless against the Monsters of the week in that series, only the outer senshi (IE, the ones most people outside the fandom don't know much about) can use hand to hand combat effectively
The rods her teamates from U3 used is even a direct parody of the Precure movie exclusive Miracle Lights.

Watch SymphogearI assumed she was actually going to sneak-attack Jiren, not Goku. I dunno, I guess some of you guys see nothing but a shallow parody of magical girl tropes when you look at her, while I see a character who is both an affectionate send-up of magical girl tropes as well as Dragon Ball's foremost example of a magical girl.
Maybe it's my complete inexperience in the magical girl genre, limited exclusively to the English dub of Tokyo Mew Mew as a tween, but I don't really see much in Ribrianne, personality-wise, that indicates her as being insincere about being a hero for love and justice. It's a bit over-the-top sure, but she strikes me more as a very passionate magical girl in a atypical body for magical girls.
I just don't think Toriyama or Toei went much deeper about her "magical girl parody" elements than "she's fat and all of her moves incorporate 'love' in the name and look like hearts". Especially with how much screentime she's getting and the character's reactions to her (Goku and the stands mostly praise her for her strength and resolve), it doesn't feel like she's supposed to be annoying or unpleasant.

Really annoyed that Vegeta decided to not give any energy to the Spirit Bomb out of pettiness against Goku. Really feels like a huge step back for the development he got in the Buu saga.
And from the looks of the preview, Goku's standing like regular, so I'm willing to bet that instead of trying to kill him, Freeza gave Goku enough energy to get Goku to at least have the strength to move.
