Yeah, that was pretty odd...
Good thing he slowly grew out of that...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Funny, some people theorized that the new form would allow Goku to rely on his [possibly savage] instincts similar to how Jiren's fighting style is, so far, presented (dodging the last floorplates with his back turned, for instance).
Overall, I'm glad this transformation is giving itself a unique perk besides the power boost (well, assuming it does become, gotta be subversive...). Current ki techniques and transformations, as cool as they are, start to feel either samey or limited usage after a while, with the aforementioned power boost justifying them.
Not to mention, in the anime, "Goku, stop dropping your guard."

Wow. I was expecting that particular Chekhov's Skill to come back at some point, and I even theorized that this new form could be incorporating it in some way, but I wasn't actually expecting to be right! Hell, I even had a personal thing where I was hoping that his new form would be something completely divorced from both Super Saiyan and Godly Ki, and I kind of got what I wanted there, too!

I thought we were just speculating.
Anyway, this supposedly not being a Saiyan transformation is interesting. I was expecting it to not be a Super Saiyan form, but if this has nothing to do with Blue or Kaio-ken does that mean Goku will be able to compete with Jiren and then use Blue or Kaio-ken on top of it later? I doubt that. Either it will be related to his other forms somehow (using that power) or it will be something he can't combine with them due to lack of control.
this being a technique that Goku uses doesn't surprise me though. Earlier spoilers had sad it was a last resort technique, so I wasn't expecting it to be something that triggered unintentionally.
I'm kind of glad it's not a transformation related to Super Saiyan, makes it feel more unique. From the way it sounds though, it doesn't really increase Goku's power like his Super Saiyan transformations though, so he have to combine it with Blue to overcome Jiren.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. There's a good parallel to draw, too. Black was using a mortal body as an ironic vessel with which to wipe out mortal life; Baby was using a Saiyan body as an ironic vessel with which to take revenge upon the Saiyans.
And since one is from the Super timeline while the other is from GT, you have the requisite timeline fuckery to build a plot around. Maybe some kind of "Super vs. GT" intertwining that the Time Patrol has to sort out.
Also I want to hear Sean Schemmel and Mike McFarland speaking in unison.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'd be down for Baby Black, or just Black and Vegeta teaming up.
I think for a Xenoverse game, though, there is too much pressure to include Super characters for them to add a new plot with what-if forms.
Given roster constraints/bloating I think it'd be better suited to an RPG.
I came up with a Pokemon-esque RPG for this concept, Xenoverse's general idea with plenty of what-ifs to collect alongside the main cast. It'd be Xenoverse's premise but instead of a warrior summoned by Trunks, you are a tactician at the TP headquarters employing the characters in battle and building a time patrol team out of characters you unlock.

He still handled it with maturity & grace.
