That's why I keep telling you all to give me all the guns, but no!
I mean, who's more responsible than Handsome Rob?
...And yeah, pretty sure Roshi is on weed now. I mean, he ain't doing much else, so he might as well right?
One Strip! One Strip!I pretty much just said really high. You missed my post on the last page.
I'd give Roshi being on weed a good 98% chance.
One Strip! One Strip!Eh. When you've been around as long as Roshi has, a little recreational toke doesn't hurt nobody.
At least it keeps him away from women.
One Strip! One Strip! My view is that Goku vs Hit (manga) kind of sucked and Goku vs Hit (anime) was hype as hell so the Kaioken has absolutely justified its return.
Sorry, I was busy. I thought the debate on the previous page (and the page before that, we did go on a bit long) was a very civil and enjoyable discussion, and I had fun with comparing our opposing points of view. I like getting into these big debates and arguing my side.
If weed exists in Dragon Ball, Roshi totally uses it. If it doesn't, he uses a substitute. Maybe the flowers he made Goku and Krillin get for him.

I liked aspects of both, and the Kaio-ken didn't contribute to what I like about the anime version. I didn't really like Super Saiyan God coming back in the manga version either, the extra forms just seem unnecessary in both mediums (I did think that the manga version would work better if it had been set before the God powers and used the old Super Saiyan forms in sequence, though). I did like what the following arc was able to do with God, but I'd probably still prefer not to have it.
I think the manga not having Kaio-ken allows it to make better use of Blue and make it feel like a big deal even though its track record hasn't been the best. In the anime, Blue's had an even worse track record, and it didn't take long at all to introduce a stronger form for Goku.
I'm pretty sure even the writers intended that to be the PG version of weed. But that also implies he primarily uses it medicinally, and recreational use is secondary.

One final note: I wouldn't be surprised if Roshi uses the Mafuba multiple times in the manga's version of the Tournament of Power too, though I expect most of it to be compressed and done in panel montage with way too fast pacing to really absorb the events of the Tournament.
Kind of like those "Tournament of Power in Real Time" videos, except presented completely sincerely as the way the story's being told.
To be fair, God coming back was probably the original plan, since it shows back up in both the manga and anime. Plus, you know that "Super Saiyan Silver" is showing up in the manga, they're not just going to introduce a brand new form entirely, and not have it show up at all in the manga adaptation.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!The manga might condense it, so that he uses it less times simply for the sake of cutting down the number of sequences involved. Once for establishment, where he uses it and it actually works. Once against Frost, where it almost works but fails at the last second. And then the last time, where Frost deflects it and instead traps Vegeta.
Maybe an extra time between the last two for Roshi's heart to nearly give out, but they could also do that with just the first one.
After the exhibition match in the manga, I wouldn't be surprised if the tournament is quite different. From the manga U 6 arc, which adapted most fights fairly quickly, I could envision each chapter being split between a specific focus (which would be each characters' focus episodes) and minor fights taken up the rest of the time, like how U 6 squeezed two halves of different fights into each chapter (roughly). I think that worked well for the U 6 arc's pacing.
The universe 6 arc took about 5.5 chapters of actual tournament. But I expect this arc to be longer than Future Trunks (13 chapters) so it shouldn't be too hard to have a focus chapter for each in universe 7, some extra time dedicated to the climax with Jiren, and whatever comes after that.
Given that they showed up in completely different points, and that God-Blue was likely Toyotarou's idea (it matches an idea he used in his AF manga with switching the other Super Saiyan forms) I think that the anime just took inspiration from Toyotarou's idea. Toriyama didn't seem to have a plan to use God again going off interviews. He may have just changed his mind, but I get the feeling that's one of Toyotarou's ideas that Toriyama was encouraging him to use more of.
And I'm sure this new form is in the manga as well. That's beside the point, Blue is no longer as recent as it was when Kaio-ken Blue was introduced. Blue has recently been deemed 'complete' in the manga, and Vegeta wasted no time in getting the completed version after Goku, so they are definitely getting ready to introduce the new form.
Today on Youtube, I came across an old scene that I honestly forgot even happened.
I know I'm usually part of the "hey, come on, guys, Super's not that bad" camp, but this pisses me off. Our first glimpse of the Universe 3 team, and for some bizarre reason they decide to focus on two jobbers who end up being the first ones on the team to drop out.
And the worst part is, I liked the idea of Universe 3 being the Crazy-Prepared universe with a backup plan for each possible outcome, and I was interested to see how that would play out. Nope! Narirama never uses those emergency tools he demonstrates, and both he and Nigrisshi are gone by Episode 100, rendering this scene more or less pointless.
I know they're dealing with eighty characters here, and they're not going to have the time to give every single one of them the limelight. But what sense does it make to go through the trouble of animating a scene that ultimately serves no purpose? What sense does it make to have Ea call Nigrisshi "the universe's strongest modified warrior", only to have him eliminated by base form Cabba in the most nonchalant way possible?

No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!

Personally, as long as things stay civil I don't really see an issue with the length.
If you don't want to read them you don't have to, if you want to talk about something else you can broach your own topic. There's no real reason for these discussions to annoy anyone besides the people having them.
