I was about to post exactly this. But yes, the Goku and Chi-chi shenanigans wouldn't be out of place in something like Everybody Loves Raymond. It's the exact same trope of "dumb husband with a nagging, attractive wife".

The Future Trunks' timeline bit probably comes from the fact that the plotting of Supers' arcs are very isolated from one another, and there's very little effort put into making the stories and their elements flow into one another besides one or two big things per arc.
This is a very episodic series, even in regards to the actual story arcs. I'm surprised that this is the first obvious internal plot hole because of it.
Something I found weird that I don't think has been pointed out here: why would Jimeeze, or whatever his name is, tell Gohan he'd teach him his techniques if they see each other again? Like, I don't think that was supposed to be sarcastic, so did he actually forget what's at stake here? It's even more egregious when he first appears saying that he'll have Gohan and then Frieza dropout for Universe 2's sake.
Things like that really just hammer in how not seriously most of these people are taking this until they have a universe destroyed to remind them, at which point they go back to acting nonchalantly.
I can't wait to see him get rekt by Jiren.
Too bad the poor Spirit Bomb has to worf again. It deserves better.
One Strip! One Strip! So I read the latest chapter of the manga, because why not, and I find it slightly interesting seeing the Zenos thought process about destroying the universes and how apparently most of them are getting worse.
Also, all the other gods hate Beerus. I suppose that's been implied in the anime too, but they really go out of their way here. "Oh, he screwed awhile ago, and all the other Gods of Destruction had to pay heavily for it...but even without that, he's done something to each of them individually to make them hate him."
And Sidra apparently has great barrier making skills.

I feel like she'll fight Caulifa or Kale in a Designated Girl Fight...just..get rid of her. She's kind of in the way now.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.

Without another Zeno, the issue won't even be brought up, since there isn't an equal to discuss it with. If the Grand priest wanted universal destruction, then he would have brought it up to Zeno years ago. The guards don't talk with Zeno at all. Eight universes would have been destroyed because the Zenos think there were too many chess pieces left after checkmate.
