So I like how, since I've had the DLC available from day 1, I get to bring my good buddies SSR Goku Black and Zamasu with me to "fight" in the Raditz-era Parallel Quests.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The roster of the Tournament of Power (gods included) already beats Xenoverse's current roster by a good amount.
- ToP: 80 fighters and 39 gods, 119 characters total
- XV2: 98 characters (including Dabura and Buuhan)
Now how to make each fighter viable in a game if some never even fought on screen is gonna be tough, but I guess they could give some of them generic moves.
I wonder if Obuni's Feint would be an ultimate or a transformation? How fast would Dyspo be before the player loses control? Would it be pointless to add the base form Kamikaze Fireballs?

Super has made like every meme canon. The Yamcha baseball episode, Piccolo suddenly being domesticated and Pan's honorary grandpa, Vegeta's pride constantly being the butt of the joke.
So can I just say I adore the Mentor system? Not just taking their classes to learn their moves, but making them your personal instructor, talking to them in Conton City, and of course when they show up to bail you out of a tough fight. I once had Cell show up to help me fight Cell.
Can't wait for DLC pack 5 to add Zamasu as a mentor, that'll be hilarious.
By the way, if my Xenoverse talk is clogging up the thread, just say so and I'll take it elsewhere. I don't want to bother everyone with a game that's been out for... a year now? However long it's been out.

Toei considers it copyright infringement and hates it. Though there was one very brief scene with Mr. Popo in Super that makes me wonder if someone on Super's staff isn't a fan and sneaked in a reference. (The scene is the one where Mr. Popo rather uncharacteristically threatens Vegeta about damaging the RoSaT and the camera zooms right in on his eyes.)
I've looked up some Abridged episodes on Nico Nico Douga, and the Japanese fans seem generally amused but confused by a lot of the jokes (since a fair chunk of Abridged's jokes are based on the old English dub and associated memes, which Japan never witnessed). I get the feeling there's too much of a disconnect for them to really enjoy it as much as Western fans.
I've never heard what Toriyama thinks of it.

Cell really is great. Even when you fail him, "You couldn't even kill TIME like that!" is a delight to hear.
But I've maxed out his friendship meter (Not sure what else to call it, but that's what I'm going with because I want to be friends with Cell), so I had to move on to Ginyu, who is also amazing. He offers you gum and chocolate parfait if you do well.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! As a gag character, she is chronically incapable of interacting with events of dramatic weight surpassing 3.4 kilotensions. If she tries, she'll either do nothing of consequence, miss the event entirely or somehow transform the event into something that is no longer dramatic.
'Tis a sad affliction, only overcome by contracting Cerebus Syndrome instead.

Well, if he doesn't know about it, he doesn't know about it. Akira's the kind of writer who seems to really enjoy taking the piss out of his own work, so he might love that aspect of Abridged. On the other hand, he's also really nitpicky and specific with jokes, so Abridged might rub him the wrong way if he just doesn't find some of their jokes funny.
I think he'd have a lot of difficulty understanding it. We've no indication that he's bilingual, and explaining the jokes across to him would not work that well.
If he could understand it, I can definitely see him being picky. Since he's also particular about dialogue, he may not appreciate how everyone is written so differently.
Yeah, he would either love it because it's a parody of his own work, or he'd hate it because it's a parody of his own work that he thought didn't work. I'm not seeing Akira Toriyama sitting down and dedicating time to watching multiple episodes of Abridged and coming out of the experience apathetic.
Also, Dragon Ball SD exists, which is basically just an official Abridged series.

Chi-Chi (or Milk in the Lat Am dub) is a terrible person. Also, Roshi has a gambling problem in the Toonami Asia dub.

Ha ha ha. What a story, Mark.
