Already posted, but i never put in my 2 cents on it.
I think Masako is, as always, assuming that because a character is way different from how they used to be it automatically makes them a better character. Goku isn't a boring character, he just doesn't change much.
Though I do agree with his statements on relevance in regards to some of the older cast members.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeOh yeah Goku is quite boring, at least in the Z era and beyond of the anime, doubly so in the English version. In dragonball he was interesting because of his unpredictability and Wild Child moments, once Z hit and he just became more and more generic Boring Invincible Hero.
The most interesting things since the end of Dragonball has been the return of Goku's more selfishness and immaturity personality quirks in super.
I don't really think most of the characters are more interesting that Goku, actually. I've always felt in situations like this it's a grass is greener scenario for the most part. People assuming the other characters are more interesting just because we don't see them as often, but actually make them the main character, and I'm sure that tone would change, not right away, but it would happen.
Like, the characters in this series are frankly not that complex, even if people really like to pump up a lot of them, in large part to tear down Goku, cough*Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo*cough.

Even if you think that Goku is boring, that doesn't make the others more interesting or the way they're but to use more interesting.
Going back to those other three, they each keep getting the same old recycled plot points. I have to imagine at some point seeing Piccolo sacrifice himself for Gohan or go on about how Vegeta has changed without showing it most of the time is going to get boring.
All of these are just general writing issues though.

I like Goku. I preferred how he was portrayed in the English dub, because Sean Schemmel's voice was a lot easier to take seriously than Masako Nozawa's. Z wasn't perfect, but it was kind of different from other shonen series in that much of its cast were adults with families of their own, and I liked that. That said, though, Goku's real story comes to its climax when he becomes a Super Saiyan and defeats Freeza. The later arcs didn't really focus on him, even though he did most of the work against Buu.

The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]Yeah, there's a difference between "doesn't get much character development" and "boring." Dragonball as a series has always tended to have a static main character (Goku) whose strong but uncomplicated personality is the glue that brings together other characters that may or may not be going through their own, more developed character arcs.
Goku's never been intended to be the character intended to go through shit and comes out different on the other side. He's more the character who changes others by way of them having known him.

I see him as sort of the Superman of the group. Unambiguously good, paternal-ish, heroic, but ultimately pretty self-realized in the sense that Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta weren't, which is why they got arcs that developed them. In the same way that a lot of Justice League stories have the other, non-Superman characters developing while Superman benevolently presides. Post-Crisis, pre-New 52 Superman, that is.

The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]I got Xenoverse 2 for Switch. Unfortunately, my efforts to create Danny Devito as my player character didn't work so well.
Can I re-customize my appearance later without having to make a whole new character, or is it locked in?

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Ah, okay.
And for physical copy buyers, it seems the "pre-order bonus" of XV 1's story and having all characters unlocked from the start are just free downloads from the eShop until October 31st. All four current DLC packs are available too, individually or bundled at a discount.
I'm glad I can download the story without having everyone pre-unlocked, I prefer unlocking stuff.
I don't want to flood the thread with questions, but if I get duplicates of clothing items (like, say, two Goku's Damaged Turtle Hermit Gis) should I just sell the extra? Is there any point to keeping more than one?
Also, is it worthwhile buying clothes/skills that aren't compatible with my custom character? Are items shared between them if I make another?

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I've been mulling over Universe 11, and I think I know a good reason why it doesn't fit the 7 or above ranking Zen'o desires-their Black-and-White Morality. Dragonball Super seems to be Graying Morality. The gods of destruction have to be morally neutral/somewhat amoral by job description, Gowasu makes it clear that God Is Flawed, Humans Are Flawed and there's a balance between good and evil. Zamasu went nuts because he couldn't accept that.
The Pride Troopers are the most powerful force in Universe 11, however their instance on a black and white view could be contributing to the average mortal level being under 7. It's possible that Toppo was chosen as Belmod's apprentice rather than the stronger Jiren because Toppo agrees with Belmod's moral absolutism, while Jiren the Grey believes in Grey-and-Gray Morality. He doesn't share the views of most of the Pride Troopers, which is why he wasn't chosen despite his strength. It's also why he's the most focused.
I see Belmod as a medium between Arack and Sidra in terms of benevolent destroyer deities. Sidra is what happens when a god of destruction is Stupid Good. He's paralyzed by the enormity of his job, the acts of necessary evil he must commit. Meanwhile Arack has a good heart, but unlike Belmod he realizes the complexities of morality which is why his is one of the four universes Zen'o sees as ideal

Do you guys think Goku is boring?
