Yeah. It's just plot contrivance (of the necessary kind) that Babidi chose that exact day to look for energy.
I mean, if Gohan had never met Videl, he'd have never been at the tournament, and thus Babidi would have missed his chance for Energy too. It was all fate.
Fate and Toriyama.
Well, Dragonball has always been the story of the plot either finding the heroes while they're minding their own business, or the heroes stumbling upon the plot while said plot is doing it's own thing and fucking everything up.
Tradition is important and all.
And things always have to happen after a timeskip because of the dragon balls...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Hilariously every major problem post Cell Saga is tied to Goku not staying dead.
- Buu only came back because Vegeta wanted to fight Goku bad enough to not care about stopping Babidi. So if Goku stays dead and doesn't come back to fight in the World Martial Arts Tournament Vegeta would just clown Babidi's men and that'd be it.
- Beerus only woke up because of Goku's battle with Buu. So he'd stay asleep.
- Freeze only decided to train and obtain his golden form due to hearing that Goku had become strong enough to fight Buu and Beerus. So otherwise he'd just attack Earth again immediately after being revived and get iced by Vegeta and/or Piccolo.
- If Beerus doesn't wake up there's no tournament with Universe 6.
- If there's no tournament Gowasu doesn't see Goku fight so Goku never spars with Zamasu. So Zamasu doesn't become afraid of mortals, so no Goku Black Arc.
- No U6 tournament means no Tournament of Power.
Interesting to think about.

Do you know what people want the most? Something somebody else has.![]()
You're wrong on one point: Beerus didn't wake up because of Goku's battle with Boo, he woke up because of some sort of prophecy about the Super Saiyan God. If Goku had been dead, he'd have gone to Earth, partied for a while, then peaced out (since Boo wouldn't be around to make him angry).
It doesn't matter...
Nature goes on, and a new universe takes its place potentially.

Again it doesn't matter, it's just the natural order of all the DBZ Universe.
Let all these characters get moxed up...no matter when it happens.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I still give it to the Android Arc since it was still the most avoidable. They had the opportunity to put a stop to Gero ahead of time but choose not to because they wanted to fight the androids.

The part about Cell and Gohan's battle attracting Boo is fanon.
Goku being present is what set Vegeta off, and then Goku chose to fight on even terms rather than use Super Saiyan 3. Thus, Boo was released.
Very easy to blame Goku (and Vegeta) for that one.
