Yeah, that always bugged me. Ginyu outright says he knows how to raise or hide his power level, so why wouldn't he be able to do the same in Goku's body. Has he just never used his Body Switch before? And if he has, then why is this such a surprise?
Honestly, TFS made a bit more sense of that by having Ginyu lose because he didn't know how to use Kaioken.
No, that makes less sense, because base Goku is still stronger than Gohan/Kuririn in that version.
It has struck me as odd as well, but it's backed up by something Piccolo says in the Android arc - they amplify their energy in a fight, making it "explode". This sounds like it's just battle power control, but more extreme - Ginyu has only shown the abiity to control his battle power in a range somewhere between 60,000 and 120,000 - he may not have the fine control Goku had.
Remember that Goku raising and dropping his battle power so effortlessly was an incredible feat to Gohan, Kuririn and Vegeta, who can all control battle power.
The funny part about the Ginyu Force to me is that they invert the usual use of a Quirky Mini Boss Squad I see in Shonen nowadays. Usually, they exist to give the supporting characters a good and decent fight that's not the main villain so The Hero can shine.
But the Ginyu Force completely and effortless stomp the characters before Goku shows up and makes quick work of them lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. With the exception of Guldo, who is the only member to get killed before Goku arrives (and who Krillin and Gohan could have beaten if they'd not flown head first into a psychic trap).
But yeah, I recall an article where Toriyama even said that he'd been building up to this moment. The Ginyu exist to help Goku show off the results of his new training.
One Strip! One Strip!I actually like how they're doing this Tournament Arc. What I was afraid was going to happen was that about 60 of the enemies would be blown off right at the start and the heroes would just fight a handful of opponents (read: Toppo and Jiren).
And while it certainly isn't perfect, I do like the way that they are allowing the supporting cast some moments to shine and showing off a variety of different character designs and techniques. Some are cool, some are not, but overall I'm pleasantly surprised.

It says something that the number of "wasted" eliminated characters without a discernible gimmick or unique fighting style ranges in the single digits. Like, it's the green fish guy from U9, Jilcol from U10, Dr Rota from U6, Nigrisshi from U3, the blond pretty man from U10, and I think that's it.
The sheer amount of creativity displayed here with making ~60 new characters with unique designs and unique fighting styles, combat mechanics, and/or abilities is genuinely impressive.
No, it ended in a draw. Anyway, I liked the the anime version of Hit vs Goku better than the manga version. Manga Hit is just a way less impressive fighter, and "Goku forfeits because Beerus and Champa stalled out the Kaioken, leaving the winner ambiguous" worked better than "Goku is the clear victor but forfeits to watch Monoka fight".
By the way, what's the pun with Maji Kayo's name?

Just a nitpick: "There" means a place. "Their" means possesion. "They're" is a contraction of "they are". Please don't mix them up.
