It seems less like "collective targeting" and more like most people aren't doing anything if they're not apart of a fight we're watching. It goes back to what someone else said about this entire thing seeming too big and yet too small at the same time. It really doesn't seem like a whole bunch of other fights are going on at the same time for the most part.
And I mean, that is partially understandable, but since U7 have eliminated most people with some throw-ins from U6 it is still a bit grating.
Not exactly, technically it was only Bergamo who stated that Universe 7 would be everyone's target. Outside of Universe 9, the only characters who specifically targetted Goku was the Pride Troopers, and that was more of a result out of Goku going out of his way to try and initiate a fight with Jiren.
Agreed. They can only focus on a few fighters at a time and that is why it doesn't feel as epic as it could had been. There is also the tonal dissonance that the arc has that makes me wonder if this is even a tournament where people are fighting for their lives.
Goku isn't really at fault but he did antagonize everyone in the tournament.
"Mai waifu."For some of use, it's a lot sooner...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Ooh, I'm so happy I waited to see what the aura looked like animated before forming an opinion on it. That aura looks like water ripples, complete with a visual distortion effect! I'll have to wait for the episode before making a final call, but this might be the best looking transformation yet.
How many episodes are we due before the special?

Holy shit. That soon!?
What about Frieza, Vegeta, Gohan? They all need big fights.
Will Jiren vs Goku be interspersed with other huge fights?
I'm personally hoping for Toppo vs Frieza, Vegeta vs Hit, and Gohan vs Dyspo (...or Kale, if she's still in).
There's next week's episode, then the break, then 2 more after that. They're taking a break on October 1st. So about 3 episodes, then the special.

Actually, exactly half of the fighters have been eliminated. There's 40 fighters down and 40 fighters left, with Universe 6 and 7 currently in the lead on numbers, with one elimination each.
Considering how Goku and Jiren are starting their fight in the Special, I'm halfway expecting them to just keep fighting for the entire second half of the tournament's time while other big fights happen in the foreground and background.

I recall people saying that they definitely would for realz yo in the build up to the tournament, but I don't recall anyone in the show itself actually stating as much. :hmm
Was that in the Supreme Kais/GoDs meeting that Beerus was excluded from?
