Still, the Beerus thing still stands. Also, Dragon Ball Minus contradicted a lot, like Goku's reason for being sent to Earth, Frieza's apparent knowledge of Super Saiyan God which he could only have heard of from Beerus, his motivation for killing the Saiyans in the first place, and the fact that despite the fact the manga ties into Battle of Gods with the mention of the Super Saiyan God, there is literally no mention of Beerus, the guy who ordered Frieza to kill the Saiyans in the first place.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!So apparently that interview that Saiga linked to also revealed what happened to 17 after the Cell Saga, mainly: he became a park ranger at a nature preserve, where he shows no mercy to poachers. He's also paid rather well and is married to a zoologist with two adopted kids.

Or maybe he just didn't want the burden of child support
As far as the Kai contraindications, from what I know The lifespan of the basic Shin-jin (North Kai, East Kai, West Kai, South Kai and Grand Kai) is roughly 75,000 years, however the Shin-jin born from golden magical fruits (Old Kai, Grand Supreme Kai, Northern Supreme Kai, Eastern Supreme Kai, Western Supreme Kai, Southern Supreme Kai) can live for millions upon millions of years.
Whenever one of the Kai on the Kai planets passes away, the Shin-jins draw lots among themselves to choose who will take the Kai's place and become a new Kai. The Supreme Kais, however, are chosen only from among Shin-jins born from a special golden fruit that is particularly rare.
And as far the reason why Beerus destroyed King Kai's planet... either reason given can be summed up as "Beerus is sore fucking loser and has a destructive child-like tantrums". I doesn't really matter what kind of reasoning Beerus had for destroying King Kai's planet. I think we just accept that it happened and because Beerus can't handle losing in any kind of game. But him sealing Old Kai in a sword is utter bullshit! Is Beerus a wizard now all of a sudden?
I still stand by my idea of a reboot Saiga and nothing will change my mind. A reboot would explore so many intriguing areas of the Dragon Ball Universe because of exposition Toriyama has provided in these interviews recently.

@Super Saiyan 2 being the "right" way to transform: it's still a transformation that drains your energy. We've been told in the Buu Arc that transformations are the wrong way of gaining power, also.
So I'm currently watching Vegeta vs Imperfect Cell... and it's not just Vegeta that's a threat to the planet: Goku is too. Pure-blooded Saiyans are genetically compelled to endanger everything and everyone for a fight. The world became a much better place after they flew off into space for their final battle.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."I'd only like a total reboot if it wasn't manga/BoG-only purist. I genuinely enjoyed a lot of the movies, filler, and supplementary material. It would be a shame to waste them.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThat kinda defeats the whole point since a large amount of the inconsistencies come from the anime (and movies). If they're gonna reboot, they need to take out stuff from the days when this was a gag manga, add some more foreshadowing for things and use the world building from the Daizenshuu. If they're not gonna do any of that, don't bother waste time rebooting.

There already was a "take out everything not in the manga" reboot in Kai. I'd like to see the wasted but interesting concepts tied in better, that's all.
Yeah, and that kind of sucked. The intro makes you think you're getting a whole new thing, but it's really just new voice work, most of the familiar music taken out, and the filler chopped away. It's horribly misleading when you first go into the show.
Not sure how I feel about adding in "Lazuli, Lazula, Mister Satan's origins, Buu being a primordial monster, or further critique on Super Saiyan 2-3" to a Dragonball reboot...
I did, however, raise an eyebrow at this:
Huh.
If anybody has a link to the rest of the translation, that'd be great. I did manage to find this, though

Adserver's trying to sell me "Dragon Ball Z Incense" right now... what.
EDIT: It turns out that that's not even Adserver's usual Word-Salad Humor and apparently there really is Dragon Ball Z-scented incense for sale
. I say again: what

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerIt's pretty awful.
I will say that I'm not totally sold on the Reboot idea. It would be interesting to see the series redone, with some of the new information we've been given, there might be an opportunity for new stories and new versions of old stuff, but at the same time, the original series, as I mentioned before, is one of the few shows to not overtake its manga and go all Gecko Ending on us.
That being said, it would be a chance to fine tune some of the later developments, let characters besides Goku and the other Saiyans do something, and maybe even get more powerful Female fighters in the series.
They might even be able to mine some movie concepts. Plus, with no direct manga to follow, they'd actually be able to trim down the filler ironically enough.
It's an idea with advantages and disadvantages, but it also might not be necessary in the eyes of some.
One Strip! One Strip!Hmm... yeah, integrate the films into the series continuity. I'd like that.
So long as they stick to Turles, Meta Cooler, Broly, and Janemba. The rest of the movie villains can burn for all I care.
Hear me out on Broly. Having a Legendary Super Saiyan who terrorized the galaxy years ago have an actual identity would be cool, and in my 12-year old mind it was always Broly.
Janemba? All he needs is a brain. His personality was basically "BWAHAHAHA" and murderous rampage. Give him some dialogue.
Turles needs some courage. His Tree of Might bit? Who saw that coming? Yeah, you read it on the box. But that's a wholly different element of the Dragonball universe. Where did the tree come from, how did he get it? For that matter, who the hell is Turles? He shyed away from those details and spent way too much time running away.
And Meta Cooler? He needs a heart. He's the most badass villain - oh, they destroyed 1 of his bodies, well f-ck them, cause he's got a hundred more. But he needs more dastardly, Frieza-like moments. 90 minutes was not enough time for him.

Yeah, I was going to bring up Bojack.
He's one of the few villains who could easily fit into continuity due to his appearing during the time skip between Cell and Buu, so there's no real reason for him to not be in that list.
Another thing I'd like, and I know Saiga would disagree with this is for the humans to be a bit more useful in combat.
There has to be a way: maybe have them all power-up somehow, like learning Kaioken, and doing their own Gravity training (yeah, maybe not as high as the saiyans, but we if the time that Tien, Yamacha, Chiaotzu and Piccolo spent on King Kai's planet, they might be able to stand at least a little increase. Also, make more use of other techniques, like the Solar Flare, and Destructo Disk.
Also, perhaps the villains minions should be so ridiculously powerful. I mean, yeah, the main big bad should be strong, and the minions difficult, but if even those guys are outclassing the heroes besides the Saiyans and maybe Piccolo so much that they get stomped in seconds, it's a real problem to me.
One Strip! One Strip!

Don't forget the contradictions between Beerus's reason for destroying King Kai's planet (losing a racing video game in the interview and losing a game of hide-and-seek in the movie), and the bases for Androids 16 and 19, which would only make any sense if the Red Ribbon Army was a legitimate military that had existed for a long time instead of an organization that was only made somewhat recently to collect the Dragon Balls for a guy with a Napoleon complex, which also begs the question of why they weren't going after them the same time Pilaf was trying.
