I mean, it wasn't like Zeno needed to destroy the universe in the first place; the whole Infinite Fused Zamas thing is kinda different than having Zamas start to fuse with reality itself.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!I'm not talking about the manga version specifically, sorry, I just mean in general.
For their to be any point the humans would need to survive. For my idea, I was thinking that Goku with his IT (or Kaioshin with Kai Kai) is able to contact the Namekians and they'd summon Porunga, which would restore life on Earth and would be used when the battle is ongoing because the heroes would actually get killed by Zamasu before being resurrected and continuing the fight. Then Porunga is still around to move everyone to the present timeline right before Zen-Oh nukes the future one.
Granted, that in itself assumes that Porunga is powerful enough to send that many people across timelines.
Plus, there's also the factor of, you know, there being doubles of at least half the people who exist on the planet now.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Like I said, the future survivors would then move to Universe 6, who has its own Earth. Champa would allow it because he's already thinking of the future tournament, and then he'd blackmail Trunks into fighting on his team which would mean delicious angst for everyone!
Porunga being able to move the Earthlings across timelines doesn't seem too bad. He can instantly move large numbers people across planets, and timeline travel is already possible. It would be plausible enough if it was used.
It's also only possible because of Time Rings, which are used by beings higher up on the food chain by Porunga, and by Bulma's time machine, which is flawed anyways since it creates alternate timelines instead of actually letting you go into the past like the Time Rings would.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!The future survivors would mostly have counterparts in Universe 7, it'd be very unusual for them. Whereas with Universe 6, they'd have no issue with that.
While Universe 6's Earth is populated, the number of survivors from Trunks' timeline is very, very small (as in, numbering in the thousands). They'd be able to migrate without much issue.
I mean, I guess you could also easily handwave the duplicates thing and have them stay in Universe 7, but then you've got Trunks around for every arc instead of just when you need him. Universe 6 writes him out while still leaving options open.
I understand not wanting to add Trunks to the main cast, since that'd be a pretty big change in status quo but at the same time the fact his timeline was erased renders his struggles a bit meaningless.
I feel like they wanted a Bittersweet Ending, but had no idea how to get there.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.![]()
If only Future Trunks living in the present was bad ending...
Otherwise his world ending stuff was overall positive.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

The loss of Future Trunks' timeline would be an acceptable trade-off for adding him to the main cast, but since Whis plopped him into a copy of that timeline it was fairly pointless to do.
