I would not have expected that.
That's something. A fact like that should have been included in the actual series. It would have painted both Gero and 16 in a whole new light.

It really wouldn't have painted both Gero and 16 in a whole new light. I mean Dr Gero was hell bent on world domination way before his son died. If what he said in GT can be take literally.
And like I've said before, and I know some people will probably be annoyed with me saying this again but, this is why we need a reboot of Dragon Ball. It would be borderline criminal for a quite sad and very poignant back-story like that of Dr Gero's to never be animated and just swept under the rug as simply as miscellaneous fact.
But what do I know?

I think the pupose of making him "gentle" in the eyes of Dr Gero was that he was would be willing to fight when necessary but never kill, probably kind of like Goku. But I assume that upon Dr Gero discovering that he would willing to never fight and instead live peacefully with nature, he deemed Android 16 a "failure".
It's kind of like Billy Elliot.
There very chance that Dr Gero was a ginger in his youth, I mean we only ever see Dr Gero in his late years and he has white/grey-ish hair, which is common for old age. I mean, can you imagine a young, hip ginger scientist beginning plans for world domination by replacing humans with machines? God, what I said just sounded so weird...

It does seem weird that he made it with his sons personality, despite knowing how gentle the guy was.
One Strip! One Strip! He did hate Piccolo until he helped them fight Vegeta and Nappa. After that they were too busy being dead for him to care and then he went off to fight Frieza. By that point he probably assumed Piccolo was trustworthy. It helps that he never acted like he might stab the heroes in the back or screw them over in some other way whereas Vegeta did that fairly often.
You could probably get away with just rebooting the Android saga. Give it more internal consistency. Create better motivations for why Gero made all the androids he did, like that interview did for Android 16. Maybe make Gero an actual character from the Red Ribbon Army saga proper. Maybe he's Dr. Frappe and something happened to him. Maybe he's Commander Red and being unable to cure his shortness drove him to genocide. Maybe he's Goku. Maybe he never really existed after all.

,
Yes, Commander Red was shot in the head at the end of the Red Ribbon Army arc by Assistant Black after the latter found out that he only wanted to use the Dragon Balls to get taller. Although it's funny that Tobias mentioned Red possibly being Dr. Gero, because I remember that the original Funimation Dub for DBZ had some kind of translation error that made it sound like Dr. Gero was actually Commander Red, who survived and wanted revenge on Goku. And the flashback also had Assistant Black also growling like a unintelligent monster for some reason.![]()

It seems as though is has been pretty much confirmed by Toei themselves that the Buu Arc of Dragon Ball Z Kai will last 69 episodes
, that's 27 episodes worth of filler removed from the original 96 episodes that the Buu Arc originally lasted for. Still sounds like a lot of episodes though but given the fact that the Buu Arc lasted for 99 chapters in the manga, the longest arc in the series, and the filler that wad added to fights was actually good in general, I can live with that episode count.
Come to think of it, Mr. Satan must be around as strong as some characters from early Dragon Ball, or a little weaker, and he got almost killed by a bullet.
How is that possible?
One Strip! One Strip!
So the plot endeavoured to embarrass him?
Don't change it, or the joke gets lost.
One Strip! One Strip!

Yeah, most of them are,
but that guy was saying saiyans were GOAT, even though the best they had (King Vegeta, Prince Vegeta) were nowhere near the best other races could put out.
The fillers in Dragonball that I REALLY hate are: Fake Namek, that episode on Namek where Bulma fights a crab and the Garlic Jr. Saga.
