Point of note about Kale real quick, she's apparently teaming up with Goku in the next episode so that may imply she gains control of her powers.
This song needs more love.New DBS manga bonus chapter. Gohan talks to Trunks
Before they decide to leave, Bulma's says Future Mai living there will be like gaining a daughter. Like that will ever happen. Gohan's reason for stoping by Bulma's: he's started training in the gravity room. He wants to be of help when there's trouble. He's noticed that lately nobody even contacts him when there's fighting to be done (like with Zamasu, I guess).
Translation from Herms
I loved Goku mentoring Caulifla in the art of the Super Saiyan, as well as her infinite well of innocent enthusiasm for learning about it. She's just so cute and eager! I loved the same thing from her during their focus episodes leading up to the tournament. I was also intrigued by Caulifla calling Goku 'grandpa'. Maybe Saiyans can tell the difference between young and old Saiyans, even if Humans can't?
Also, Kale may not be the best character ever, but she is better than Broly for one simple reason: she has two understandable motivations (romantic jealousy and an insecurity complex) vs Broly's one nonsense motivation (hate this one guy because he cried as a baby).
I agree that Kale walking through Goku's Kamehameha and only taking minor damage is dumb, but Goku's usage of Super Saiyan Blue this entire arc is dumb, so it seems petty to single out this one moment as terrible without mentioning all of the others that are equally as dumb. I've just become desensitized to it by this point and I just ignore it.
Finally, HOORAY, the characters in the story didn't actually reference Broly directly!

I don't know why, but I'm having real trouble realizing which female saiya-jin ya'll be referring to when say Kale.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Is Broccoli's motivation too simple?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's a pretty bare-bones and honestly sloppily thrown together set of character traits anyways just for the sake of pandering to those specific audiences.
BUT, in the defense of Kale, I do think if you got rid of the Yandere part of her and just kept the meekiness and her bouncing off the more rowdy Caulifula she wouldn't be that bad of a character.
Hey man. Never knock the emotional turmoil that comes from Sempai not noticing you.
One Strip! One Strip!

But Power Levels aren't worthless.
It's the numbers that are worthless (due to other characters being able to raise and lower their Power Levels).
Power Levels have always done exactly what they were meant to do: establish who is going to win a fight, hands down, and they've done that.
Edit: Murasaki'ed.
