Everything you just said has made me violently angry. -kicks nightstand-
Now I hope she never does and people can still be upset about it for years to come without even the ground of sexism to stand on. I can't believe we're still at a stage in Super where anyone wants, even jokingly, for this show to "de-canonize GT." We have literally declared Goku and Vegeta as gods, paid the smallest of lip service to Uub, had Bulma undergo a divine intervention equivalent of a C-section, brought Freeza back from the dead not once but twice, made Broly psuedo canon, had Trunks's timeline wiped out, and had universes worth of characters revealed to exist during the decade or so between the final fight with Kid Buu and the end of Z.
Like, can't these properties just co-exist. When Super's good people say it de-canonizes GT because "Toriyama's 20% more involved, that makes it canonical".
I'm almost certain when Vegeta unlocks "Hyper Vegeta Blue Red Orange (Mastered)" and the form sports a goatee we'll be saying, "Super is just as bad as GT, disregard it!"
At least Xenoverse is a good sport about it and just declares GT "another universe." The most disrespect it gets is Time Patrol Trunks feeling awkward about how lame his other self is - not that Time Patrol Trunks has anything to brag about
.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You can't punch a universe in the face...
...though I admit, I wouldn't object if you did.

He drew AF as a fan. His work was drawn well enough that he was given various Dragonball Heroes stories to manga-fy. That, in turn, made the powers that be trust him enough to work with Super. He has no power to canonize things or de-canonize things, even though he's the only Dragonball artist that Toriyama has deemed a successor.
The best he can do is sneak in references to other material, like Mosco looking like GT's "god of destruction," Luud.
Addendum: "canon" is a nebulous concept in dragonball fandom. Just enjoy the parts of the franchise you enjoy, since a strict canon is hard to define (yes, even if you say something like "the original manga only").

~felipelight: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard Toyotaro found the fan lore surrounding a potential sequel to GT (Dragon Ball April Fools, in this case) interesting enough to make his own fan comic, creating Manga Zam—Xicor as a result.
It has a trope page, in case you were wondering.

I seem to remember Toriyama redrawing Zamasu for him.
Grooming him into an heir would imply that Toyotaro is continuing the franchise well beyond Super and is basically being handed the reins. Toyotaro has contributed exactly 2 things - the AF manga and the Super manga - meaning a great deal of what is actually continuing and expanding this franchise - the anime, Heroes, Dragonball Fighter Z, Xenoverse, the films, the Jaco special, the other fan mangas - has had nothing to do with him. He's only filling in the blanks from notes/scripts Toriyama supplies, yes? An heir would be actively controlling the series' direction.
I think Toyotaro is being given too much credit here. He's just a guy who can draw who got lucky enough to work with Toriyama. He's not Vice President of the Dragonball franchise.
And no I'm not speaking out of envy, shut up.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well then he's Vice President of the Dragonball franchise, big whoop, and I sincerely hopes he wants to fight about it. Slaying the previous Vice President makes me Vice President by default, right?
I would like to restate that I am not envious in the slightest.
Successor or not, he's writing/drawing the manga. That's it. It's a lot of work, but it's one cog in what is currently a much larger machine. We're still operating on "Toriyama gives Toyotaro some notes to build Super on and gives Toei some notes to build Super on, and they both just go in two different directions and Toriyama mostly seems perfectly chill with both directions," are we not?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!...
I admit, I'd get a laugh out of it.
Maron is an anime only character though, so it's doubtful Toriyama will ever use her.
One Strip! One Strip!Right so as it turns out Krillin didn't end up killing anyone after all. Frost knocked him out of bounds.
This song needs more love.Actually, that wasn't a bad showing for Krillen. Knocked out two fighters before getting blindsided by someone about a million times more powerful than he is. And he used some strategy rather than just "hit them harder" (looking at you Goku).
And for next time: SAIYAN HYPE!!!

...I mean, a reason for Pan to get Super Saiyan as a baby would be to de-canonize GT.
It's not even like it'd mess up the end of Z any. It's not like she'd need to transform at a tournament where she'd be fighting a bunch of humans.
