I'm definitely expecting Universe 4 to get erased before the Tournaments end. With Quitela trying to cheat before the start of the Tournament, it only makes sense from a "narrative comeuppance" stand-point.
One way I could see this ending is that the Omni King ends up having a change of heart about the Universes that impressed them. Probably the ones that got the most World Building up until now like Universe 6 and 11.

Plus, four is nine's twin...
And twins do everything together.

I watched that yesterday.
Another thought, maybe if the Omni King spares the surviving universes that still have fighters left standing, they decide to merge the twin universes to raise their Mortal Level. 2 & 11, 6 & 7, 3 & 10.
4 and 9 are left erased since they cheated.
That'd leave Seven Universes.

Ugh, those pronunciations irk me.
But a rather interesting video, because even I noticed at a young age how tacked on Goku's role was at the end of the arc. Not that it was all bad mind you as it led to one of the more interesting fights in the series, and the fact Goku & Freeza still end up as arch enemies by the end despite the two having no prior history for each other just says how personal the fight became for both of them. No dark backstory needed, it's just two guys who simply can't stand each other.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Toriyama didn't name the form, it was produced before he came on board the project.
Honestly, the name makes sense to describe the form on its own. It just lead to Blue having a shitty name.
If Saiyan Beyond God was a thing named in-universe, we could have just had Super Saiyan Beyond God. And if Goku/Vegeta were limited to SBG and SSBG instead of using the old forms it could just be referred to as 'Super Saiyan' going forward.
I mean, Toriyama may not be to blame for the naming convention of Super Saiyan God, but he's still the one who decided that both Goku and Vegeta needed a form beyond God at all, when he could have just gone with them either learning how to turn into Super Saiyan God on their own, like what was foreshadowed at the end of Battle of Gods when we saw Goku regain the form for a few brief moments, or just master Super Saiyan and their base states to a point where they either could reach that same tier of power on their own, or at least reach a perfected form of Super Saiyan capable of power even greater than 2 and 3, like what Toriyama said Goku was going to do in an interview.
We didn't need a second form on top of all of this, especially one that has been both poorly defined and seems to change what it actually is between media formats.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!You know, I wouldn't be surprised if this is all fixed by the Omni-kings just having a never before mentioned ability to undo all of their erasures and bring back the universes (maybe even the six before the series), and just be like "nobody ever asked".
As stupid as that sounds, it's probably better than any alternative.
If the Grand Priest and the angels are really trying to erase the universes out of maliciousness then bringing back the six other destroyed universe might also serve as a giant middle finger to them like "You wanted less universe? Well screw you have more".
This song needs more love.I don't know what the endgame of this arc is going to be, but I hope it's satisfying. I'm just concerned, because Omni-King and Grand Priest are, barring some late reveal, the strongest people in existence. I believe it was said that Goku would never surpass Beerus, right?
With that being said, there's no way he should be able to get close to touching the boss/father of Beerus' boss. Or his boss.
So if Grand Priest is the villain, I don't know how this will end, unless it's something like Goku using his friendship with Zeno to get him to rebel against the Grand Priest and erase him from existence.
Not sure how the other angels would take that, though.
There's absolutely nothing Engrish about it. Super Saiyan God is literally a God form, and it was originally conceived as a Super Saiyan form as well.
What actually counts as a Super Saiyan form is never defined, but it checks the same boxes as the other transformations.
The issue is entirely in the naming scheme used for the next form.

I wonder if it would have been better if Super Saiyan Blue had been called such from the start. Sure, it'd have been mocked just like it was when the form was first renamed but then we'd all have gotten used to it and be okay with it like we are now.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! What would you have called it? Let's assume Super Saiyan God kept its name.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Technically, God and Blue would be 7 and 8.
Back in the 90's after the Cell Saga but before the SSJ3 transformation scene, the forms after SSJ (Ascended, Ultra, Full Power and SSJ2) were listed off as stages (Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4 and Stage 5).
This would technically make SSJ3 "SSJ Stage 6", God "SSJ Stage 7" and Blue "SSJ Stage 8"... and then there's also Quake of Fury/Full Power SSJ2, Super Saiyan Rage and Full Power Super Saiyan Blue, so who really knows at this point.
As a little bit of Hilarious in Hindsight, Mega64 predicted "Super Saiyan 8" would have a blue aura and hair:

Yeah. We still have yet to see Beerus "try" his hardest.
