Yeah, but a lot of the enjoyment people get from their characters is watching them eventually get the shit kicked out of them.
Not to say that misogyny isn't involved with the reaction to Caulifa, it usually is with subjects like this. Just a comment that people tend to like watching the rude/smug/cocky characters getting beaten on anyway.

Everyone is at their best when getting beat up...
It just looks so nice...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I've seen some users call for a "callback" to Videl vs Spopovich (or Gohan vs Recoome) for Caulifla, among other colorful analogies. Regardless, no problem with Caulifla possibly getting her comeuppance.
Though I will say this: this is probably the first time in a while where "villainous bad dad" Goku gets a warming support from his usual detractors.
Does that mean that battle damage clothing will return?!

I mean, I can think of plenty other examples of guys acting cocky and instead of thinking they're being arrogant, they're excited to see what they can do and why they're so cocky.
I'm sure part of that is that we've already seen Caulifla do stuff... but what we've seen her do is get Super Saiyan 2 without even trying so I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if she got 3 during the tournament.

This song needs more love.I hope they both beat people up and are beaten up in turn, and then beat up more people.
Handsome Rob, man of equality.
I hate that this is a conversation, fuck gender politics real talk.
No I don't care if Caulifa is a chick. I'm just pointing out that her underestimating people who are blatantly stronger than her might bite her in the ass.
I give Vegeta, Freeza, and anyone else the same amount of shit for doing the same thing and point out how dumb they are too.
So please kindly take that misogyny bullshit somewhere else.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Why can't more people be equal for characters?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It should be noted that Jiren has more hype than Cauli. The guy has been built up as Goku's ultimate rival, the homegrown hero of his own universe, its shining champion when all hope seems lost he will prevail cause that's what a hero does. Dude has a major spot in the OP for one.
Cauli has none of that, she doesn't have the comparable hype, Kale does. Cauli's existence is just a bonus to having another female Super Saiyan who has a warrior personality like the Saiyan's we know & love. We don't expect a climactic epic final battle to end all battles from her or expect her to be involved.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah I don't think anyone was talking about you specifically. It was brought up that this was a common thing elsewhere and it took off from there.
This song needs more love.![]()

Here here.
We watch DBZ to see people punching other people in the face. Gender should not be an issue.
Unfortunately, in a series where female fighters were few and far between (and with one single exception, massively out powered by the males) it's a very dominant issue.
...That being said, I'll change the subject by saying I want the opening move of the tournament to be every member of every team flash-stepping behind someone and kicking them in the ass until we just get a circle of asskicking.

One Strip! One Strip!I've only seen such comments on You Tube, but that's not a surprise.

There are two double standards here:
"A woman insulting someone and acting tough makes her an uppity bitch who needs to be put in her place, while a man insulting someone and acting tough makes them cool and powerful." Which is relevant to the conversation.
"A woman physically assaulting a man is justified because she can't really hurt him, while a man physically assaulting a woman is wrong because women are weak and never deserve violence." Which was brought up solely for the sake of bringing it up.
