Not to dig up an old conversation but
To be more accurate it's a sentiment that Lani specifically has voiced. He also hasn't hidden the fact that Piccolo and Vegeta are his two favorite characters in the series. I don't think Kaiser or Taka have been quite as vocal about Goku's parenting, or lack thereof.
Gee, the fact he voices Piccolo and Vegeta probably doesn't have anything to do with it at all. Nope.
Also, that is some meta casting to have Greg Ayres do Frost. It beats having his brother talk to himself to emulate the Japanese dub.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Heard about this a couple days ago, and I really hope Mr. Ayres gets better. I hope his voice is also unaffected by the lung surgery, since his career is in voice acting and his Freeza voice is so perfect for the character. I want to hear his rendition of Freeza in the most recent episodes, and it just wouldn't feel the same without him.
Well, I have an uncle who will probably have to get a lung transplant due to abestos exposure, and my father got a damn triple bypass done 3 months ago; somewhat informed on the details: the surgery IS complicated and lifethreatening, however, due to that, it is never done under suboptimal circumstances. Chris Ayres is around 50, so he is quite young for that kind of intervention, and therefore he has above average chances of making it.
If he smoked, however, he is going to regret every single cigarette of his life, because it surely isn't anything resembling a pleasant experience. And he'll probably have to recover for a few months before straining his chest.
Dub!Frost is quite well done, in any case...

Frieza doesn't want to listen to any team strategies? A truly shocking development. I'm guessing it's going to be the same with Vegeta.
Frieza not going for teamwork was so obvious that I'm legitimately surprised they didn't realize it sooner. He tried to kill Goku about three times already and casually hit him twice.
As if he'd be any better. He'd blow up the Solar System the moment someone suggested he couldn't solo the whole tournament.
Losing his perfect form ought to fuck his mind up.
And, after all, he was already aiming Kamehamehas at the planet before spitting 18 out.
Cell's mercy was akin to Freeza not killing everybody once he got to his third form: just waiting for a more savory moment while enjoying their futile struggle while their spirit breaks.

I do kind of like how Wrong Genre Savvy Goku is here; he probably just assumed Freeza would cooperate because every other rival he's had eventually came around to doing so, even if they were as stubborn about it like Vegeta.
Freeza though? He's actively defying the Defeat Means Friendship nature of the series and conspiring to screw over the heroes.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Honestly, Cell would probably be the worst of Freeza and Vegeta at the same time. Too arrogant and battle-lusty to team up with the others rather than doing it all himself, so disdainful of the others that he's liable to torture and mess with them for kicks rather than help, so callous about the lives of others that he likely wouldn't care if his own universe was destroyed either, and so opportunistic in his pursuit of power and perfection that he probably would have made that deal with Sidra and Rou twice as fast.
I don't think Cell ever showed much interest in revenge for its own sake (even his obsession with Goku was more a fixation on beating him to prove he was superior - like 17 and 18, he didn't seem to have personally inherited Gero's vengeance obsession), unlike Freeza. But then again, he never really got the opportunity to have a reason for revenge.

Good Luck to the man. He brought new life to Frieza, and it'd be a shame to lose him.
