To be fair, he was pretty right. No Goku means no Raditz, no Nappa and Vegeta, no Freeza, and possibly no Androids and no Cell. Moving past that, it also means no Beerus, no Gold Freeza, no U6/U7 Tournament, no Zamasu, and no Tournament of Power.
If Goku hadn't arrived on Earth, Freeza wouldn't have happened at all. He'd still be dicking around in space doing whatever so he'd never die to Future Trunks and so on.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Lets not forget both Piccolos either.
Pilaf only released him in a desperate attempt to finally beat Goku, and Junior exists because of Goku killing the senior Piccolo.

One Strip! One Strip!Buu only woke up on the day Goku came back, but. Like, Buu's egg cocoon thing has apparently been embedded in the Earth for 5 million years. So Buu being there isn't a Goku thing. And Babidi was apparently planning on hitting up the World Tournament for a while.
Goku and company apparently exceeded Babidi's energy needs by a lot, but. Like, he could have probably sucked enough humans dry to wake Buu up.
Like, Cell and the androids could have killed enough humans to prevent that. But Dabura and Babidi could probably have sucked the androids and/or Cell instead.
Or just taken Buu somewhere else.
And without Goku, yeah, Cell wouldn't be a thing, but that means more humans for Buu.
Plot twist for the Goku Black arc: the reason Zamasu is spending so much time on Earth in Trunks's timeline is that Buu killed all life everywhere else.

Even if that plot twist wasn't true, Randomness finds it pretty positive that he destroyed that timeline...
Even if he ended up dying.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Okay, but...it was brought up, so I can take something away from it even if that wasn't the point.
Which is what I always do.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Boo was released because Vegeta was pissed because Goku was there. And because Goku indulged Vegeta in their sparring match.
Even though Goku was speaking from the perspective of people coming after them, a better argument is how he will let a situation become worse for his own wishes. In that regard, he is right to argue the Earth may be safer without him.
Also it's not like people don't have the ability to send messages to Goku via Uranai Baba or Dende. And Grandpa Gohan only bothered to contact Goku when he came back from the dead for a day, and was only going to do that when Goku went to Baba.
It's not a Goku thing. The entire cast consider the living and dead to be separate, outside of that one day to visit. Both sides have the means to contact each other, but don't do so. It's probably a cultural thing in-universe.
@unnoun: I'm confused - Majin Boo wasn't released in Trunks' timeline, Trunks stopped them.

Probably has to do with how he jumps at leaving to train with King Kai/Whis at every opportunity.
And geeze, there is really no need to get so salty at Piccolo is Gohan's dad statements. It's pretty clear what the reasoning behind it is. Gohan and Piccolo share a strong bond, which was probably not intended to be but can be interpreted as parental. And after Piccolo stopped being evil he never did any shitty things to Gohan, while Goku does a bunch of shitty things throughout canon and filler, so Piccolo comes off way better in comparison, even though he does way less actual fathering.
Piccolo also stopped spending any time with Gohan after he stopped being evil, except when he was invited to join Goku and Gohan in training.
@unnoun - Gohan told Baba to contact him if Goku came. So he wasn't actively doing anything.
@Gojira That started with BOG, though, and could just be a change in the portrayal of Goku's character over the years. In the manga when Goku was alive he spent 10 years with his family.

You know what?
I'm just gonna say they all suck.
Goku is a crappy dad, Vegeta is a crappy dad, Piccolo is two crappy dads, Satan is a crappy dad, Gohan is a crappy dad, Cold is a crappy dad, Krillin is a crappy dad, Dr. Briefs is a crappy dad, Bardock is a crappy dad, everyone is awful.
One Strip! One Strip!Even assuming that's true, it still comes off as shallow and poorly thought out, without regard for actual context and the feelings of the characters involved.
To a lot of people, this isn't a joke but something they're serious about, in which case, there's nothing wrong with pointing out all of the holes in the argument.

I see it like this: Making jokes that Piccolo is a good dad for Gohan is fine. Seriously saying that Goku is a bad father and using that as a criticism of the character is not fine.
Like this. Stuff like this is great.

Well he is a simple guy after all.
What was his reason for staying dead?
