But is it the writer for that episode who said Ten was stronger? Super has multiple writers for individual episodes, and whoever wrote that episode wrote Goku as saying it was Roshi's real strength.

It would not surprise me at all if some of the writers were on different pages.

In Frieza's window when he was looking down on Earth, it was clearly our Earth. I always thought this took place on a different planet not our Earth.

We also see the earth in one of the Early super episodes and yeah, it's definitely our earth, with familiar landmasses and all.

[up][up] I'd say that it's less different pages and more different books entirely.

So Toyotaro simplified it greatly it seems.

Edit: As a random thought, what other anime characters do all of you think could ride the Flying Nimbus / Kintoun?

Wasn't there a crossover involving Dragon Ball and One Piece that showed Luffy being able to ride Nimbus, IIRC?

Was that the Cross Epoch Manga (I think that was the name) or the special that threw Toriko into the mix as well?

Pretty much any modern shonen manga protag could ride it. mostly because they're all inspired by goku

except naruto. at first.

Fuck Naruto.

He should be rejected by it over a volcano.

Yeah. I'm biased. I admit it.

Anyway, I'd assume that Usagi Tsukino would be able to ride it.

Probably Negi Springfield from Mahou Sensei Negima! pre demonification that is.

Can't think of any one else right now.

The Flying Nimbus is the least picky magical artifact that defines "pure of heart" in fiction.

The true test of a shonen manga's protag's character is whether or not they can lift Mjolnir.....?

Now that one's tricky cause Thor's girlfriend & Captain Hydra are worthy.

Mjolnir is rather picky.

[up]She's not his girlfriend, she's single. She also makes sense.

It's the latter that's questionable.

For reference, the list of people that can lift Mjolnir are Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Jane Foster, Eric Masterson, Steve Rogers and Awesome Andy.

Wonder Woman also held Mjolnir in one of the Marvel/DC crossovers.

[up] Well yeah she's currently single but she is well known as Thor's girlfriend. Fuck thats all she is in the movies aside from being a scientist.

Thank God she got cut out, shes a boring character anyway. The latter one is very picky though. Yup the hammer has fucked up standards.

Yes a nurse the last time I checked.

I think shes an emergency worker & usually arrives on the scene of whatever disaster is happening.

I'm going by the movies version of Mjolnir, mostly. Thor can lift it, since its supposed to be his, obviously, as well as Vision. The only other person is Steve Rogers, but all he did was lift it up a centimeter or two.

If Goku were to try and lift it, I think Mjolnir would legitimately sink lower. XD

You could argue the reason why Steve couldn't lift it in the movies is due to his inner desire for conflict so he could feel fufilled is warping the hammers view of him.

So by that logic yeah Goku is totally screwed, heheh. tongue

Actually, he'd probably be able to lift it.

And then Naruto lifts the entire thing in one hand, and the Rob proceeds to burst several blood vessels in his rage.

[up][up]Or it's because Steve is unable to get drunk.

[up][up][up]Thus why Mjolnir would start sinking if Goku tried to lift it. Gohan, on the other hand, Mjolnir would be as heavy as a ladybug to him. Toppo could also lift it no problem as well.

[up][up]Doubtful. Mjolnir chooses warriors who have goodness in their hearts and a love of battle, but also the desire to fight to protect others first and foremost, as well as the desire for the fighting to eventually end. While Goku is a morally a good guy, protecting his loved ones actually come secondary in his mind. Of course he won't let his family or friends be in danger if he could easily rescue them, but that only comes when the situation is dire enough for him to realize it, focusing purely on getting a good fight and becoming stronger from it until that moment comes.

[up] What about a Green Lantern ring?

Or would he be more qualified for another part of the Emotional Spectrum?

[up]Green Lantern rings are not as picky as Mjolnir, but it is entirely up to each individual ring, and then final approval of the Guardians. Process is a bit more bureaucratic, but ultimately Goku would not be eligible purely because he's too stupid for anything outside of combat. Not to mention Goku would be ineligible for any other color in the Emotional Spectrum.

............except maybe Orange.........

I'd argue he'd be eligable for a red ring when he first became a Super Saiyan.
