...Wow. Darkseid has done some weird shit.
...Isn't this a dragon ball thread?
One Strip! One Strip!![]()

Huh, that is a tragedy.
I just thought of this but I think this inane conversation is a little bit of fridge brilliance cause were actually talking about Power Levels here, in a DB thread.
Isn't that fitting even if most of the characters mentioned aren't from DB?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So... Goku, then Vegeta, then 17, then Piccolo, then Gohan, then Buu, then 18, then Krillin, then Roshi, then Tien?
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!Toei writters have no sense of scale, and suck at consistence. Judge the finished work. (Also, remember that Toriyama is credited as the manga writter).
Anyway, I can understand Freeza, to a degree. Repentance involves letting your memories and personality go so you may be reincarnated. Yeah, voluntarily letting what makes you yourself is not something egocentric supreme would do (hell, not many people would do that). Voluntary Cesation Of Existance? Ew.
I just realized something. It's interesting that Frieza is hellbent on staying a bad guy, when he got mad that Bulma called him a scumbag in Resurrection F.
Why. Why. Why.
Master Roshi. Blew up. The Moon. The Moon.
Goku took a rabbit to the same moon with his magical extending pole.
Beerus showed up and opens the door to twelve others universes all run by a toddler with the power to obliterate them all.
Bulma wanted to wish for a mountain of strawberries, or a boyfriend, pick your dub. She wanted to waste a wish on a boyfriend and this girl is supposed to be a scientist. And just about everything else she does in the show backs that up, but still. A boyfriend. A rich, white (?), teenage genius wanted to waste a virtually unlimited wish on arm candy. What the frack Japan?
Frieza tried to blow up a planet and missed.
Cell threatened to blow up the solar system. With a laser beam. Fired from the third planet from the sun. And not necessarily facing the sun or any sort of large cosmic lynchpin or Soul King or what have you. He just said he would do it.
So unless all of those things were specifically inventions of the anime and someone can prove that then I find it hard to believe this is exclusively a "Toei" thing.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't know why you're blaming Bulma's wish on Japan when that was purely her character and was unrelated to Japanese culture.
Freeza didn't miss, he underestimated how much energy it'd take to blow up Namek. That's why he extends the time limit until Namek blows up to seven minutes a bit into the fight.
Also, that's the wrong kind of scale. Not real world physics scale but in-universe power scale.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Saying he "missed" was facetious. I should have complained about him intending to blow up a planet and somehow only managing to "slowly blow up a planet." I'm no physicist but having just enough explosive yield to "slowly" blow up a planet but not instantly blow up the planet sounds weird, and Frieza is an unlucky bastard to hit that threshold but not surpass it, despite being in a form in which he reportedly has precious little self-control and having more charge time than either of the other two times he blew up a planet and firing straight down but failing in that instance - unless Namek is bigger/denser than Earth or Planet Vegeta.
I seem to remember a dub line from Raditz or Vegeta claiming that Saiyans are born/raised/trained in a gravity much higher than that of Earth's so that can't be true for Planet Vegeta at least. Frieza blew up that planet with his index finger and while in his first form from farther away.
Frieza's blowing up planets pushed the need for later villains to be even more powerful/dastardly than that, which leads to Super's problem with Beerus and Goku almost blowing up the universe and Black and Zamasu needing to top even that. Granted, that's not the issue of scale being discussed and I'm just being conceited at the moment.
Because it's a Japanese series created with Japanese ideals, stereotypes, and traditions in mind and the concept was presumably written in by Toriyama himself or influenced by an editor/partner. Someone in the chain of command said, "She's a scientist who wants a boyfriend."

slimcoder claimed that Darkseid is the top dog, which pissed everyone off, and rightly so, because really that guy once got owned by stairs.
