I just realized, unless they have Freeza train in the hyperbolic time chamber, bringing him back to fight for Universe 7 wouldn't even be worthwhile. With only a handful of hours before the Tournament of Power begins, there's no way he'd have enough time to master his golden form, so unless he'd be strong enough to be useful in his non-golden form (which I doubt considering how he couldn't handle base form Goku) and take into account how he doesn't tend to use tactics too much in a fight, he'd essentially be on a limited amount of time for how long he's a useful fighter.

[up][up]Logic doesn't really factor into half of these people being here or as strong as they're going to be. Don't over think it.

Well if they keep him dead and only have him be able to leave Hell, the Golden form should just be like SSJ3 and work fine.

This song needs more love.

[up][up] In terms of strength no, but with the likes of Krillin, Tien, and Roshi, they at least brought up how they'd be useful for their techniques and skills. Freeza, one of the most iconic examples of Unskilled, but Strong wouldn't bring anything really helpful for the team other than the temporary Golden Form. Honestly, Freeza is pretty much guilty of the exact same reason Goku decided Goten and Trunks shouldn't compete in the tournament.

[up] That's a pretty good point. Didn't think about that

[up]Did you miss all the discussion on how those attempts at showing "skill/technique not strength" fall flat too? At least for a lot of people.

And for all the talk of Frieza being unskilled, he really wasn't. He didn't train to his true potential, but he had his fair share of "technique" and was more perceptive than people gave him credit for.

[up] Even then, the arc's been emphasizing how much the tournament will need a lot more than raw power. Heck, with Krillin and Majin Buu both ringing out Gohan and Goku respectively when sparring against them, it's not as if they never focused on it. Putting Freeza into the team completely undermines that.

As for Freeza being perceptive, he still had plenty times where he wasn't. Goku frequently tricked him when they were fighting on Namek before he even became a super saiyan, completely forgot about killing Goku before he could fully charge the spirit bomb because Piccolo distracted him, got cut in half by his own attack, and had to have the flaw of his golden form spelled out to him by Goku and Vegeta. Freeza has had several moments of cunning but the times he's relied on something other than brute strength (like with Sorbet shooting Goku while Goku was distracted) wouldn't be viable in a tournament considering it's a cluster of fighters all at the same time.

I just fucking realized, Super DBH Mission 4 has stages where Goku goes to Hell to recruit people for the tourney. This was advertised since LAST MONTH.

I don't mind Freeza being part of the team but not at the expense of Buu, if you keep Buu and add Freeza and Cell you'd have the major Z villains working together with the Z heroes to save the universe, which would have been pretty sweet.

Freeza is the one DBZ villain that shouldn't get this.

Then again, if used intelligently, Buu would be about unbeatable with the tournament rules. He'd just have to drop bits of himself everywhere and absorb dudes. They can't fly away. If Buu gets knocked out, just pull your bits back together or absorb a dude to start fighting again.

i too am not a fan of this, but the only way Super could let me down further at this stage would be to lower my fucking casket

Wait, wait, wait, WMG time...

It's all a trick. They bring back Frieza, give him the whole shpiel about the Universe Survival tournament, lead him to believe that he's going to be fighting for the fate of the earth... and then they let Buu out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and have him absorb Frieza, making him massively powerful.

Meh, terrible puns and repeat humor. If I recall I'm not sure which Asian based group this applied to, but isn't there some of the cultural groups who have repetition humor being a staple in their comedy? I know puns are definitely a thing.
