While Blue looks better than God, I dislike it more than God for being a recolour and looking worse than the original transformation it was based off.
And if we were going to get a Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan God combined form as the new super mode I'd rather it be either Super Saiyan with God power (like Super Saiyan Goku was vs Beerus near the end of BOG) or a form that visually combines traits from God and Super Saiyan (God's aura on Super Saiyan, or red eyes on Super Saiyan etc).
My ideal version of SSGSS would probably be similar to the original Super Saiyan colouration
that Toriyama gave to the anime staff for Movie 5. The red eyes and orange-y hue suit God's influence over the form and it'd be a really neat reference.
Here's
◊ a better image for the colouration. There's also the very centre take here
which seems like a good way to combine the forms to be, but I don't like it as much.

I like both Blue and God, God because there's a divine, otherwordly feel to it, with the fiery aura, lesser muscle mass, and its presentation. Blue has that awe-inspiring choir every time it happens, which never fails to get me pumped, and the color in both is a very asthetically pleasing shade of red and blue. Additionally, blue is about as far from red and yellow as yellow is from black, so it works well. Blue also retains the fiery aura, except instead of it being red, it's blue with yellow highlights, deepening its connection to God.
My favorite form, of course, is Kaio-Ken Blue, because of the absolutely beautiful layering of contrasting colors, aura styles, and shading.
I did put an Opinion Myopia pothole there. I'm fully aware that it's not really fair to think that way. I guess I'm just annoyed we never got to see a Super Saiyan Oozaru in the main series (GT is basically alternate universe now).
In other words, just Rob being Rob.
One Strip! One Strip!Super's power scaling is the worst. There's no consistency anymore.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! No, you're thinking of Heroic Spirits. That's a different thing entirely.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!In all seriousness, what were people who wanted the humans to be relevant again expecting?
This song needs more love.I'm just bemused by the whole thing; fans spent years bitching how outclassed the supporting cast was. Then when they make them relevant again, now the complaint is that it doesn't make sense.
Monkey's Paw if I've ever seen it. So hey, take it or leave it. I just hope some realize that Super is doing exactly what they'd wish they'd so.

See, fans just want what they want, consequences be damned. Except when those consequences are thrown in their face, then they start complaining about that. See Unpleasable Fanbase.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To be fair, even if it would still come out of left field, Super could try a bit harder. Like, by not having power ups that come out of nowhere and are never elaborated on. Or by not going "Lapis and Lazuli are stronger now because they haven't done anything." Stuff like that is just easy to ridicule.

That's all on Toriyama then, he just gives a basic outline and Toei/Toyotaro just go with their own scenarios surrounding them.
While it's easy to just blame Toei for everything (which just seem to be the natural response to anything less than stellar about Super it seems), the fact is that Super was problematic from the getgo. It's a pretty obvious cash grab at the series` revived popularity since Bo G and was designed to cash in on that.
At this point, I'd say people should just take it for what it is but I know fans love complaining about things they don't like about their favorite series, so I know that's not going to happen. I'm just here for the ride really. Even if Super is nowhere near the quality of the original series, it's still entertaining in it's own right. I'd rather try to enjoy it than simply be angry all of the time for not being what I want it to be lol.

Except they couldn't compete at all. What are you talking about?
The only one that could actually compete with SSB Goku was 17 and even then he was holding back. Plus you know, it was already said that Androids can get stronger.
And Krillin couldn't stand up to that force, he said so himself? Did you not watch that part?
X2
No, 17 is stronger now because he's been training, he said so himself. It's not because he wasn't doing anything. Where did you even get that?
×4 Except they did care, because people have been asking for the other characters to get a chance to shine.

I really like steak
I wouldn't want a steak served to me with a heaping pile of shit on top
edit: and that's ignoring the obvious - a fandom this size has many different people with different wants. I never wanted the humans to become this powerful, and I didn't care if they were relevant. People always act like it's the exact same fans every time there is a conflicting response to things.

There's nothing wrong with being annoyed at the insane power scaling going on currently but I'm curious how those who did want relevant humans would have done it.
This song needs more love.

I think Blue looks weird, its just the color blue just looks odd after years of looking at yellow. In the case of God I can get used to it being red/pink/magenta cause the Kaoi-Ken was already red but in the case of Blue the shift from yellow to blue just feels odd.
