Once again, Gohan is a SAIYAN, you know the race who are instinctively inclined toward fighting? They are quite literally naturally skilled when it comes to fighting. Even a rusty Gohan was an inherently better fighter than Krillin in the Buu saga. So age was never really a factor before now because "Hey, we gotta make Krillin look respectable".
I don't have a problem with Gohan losing by ringout, but rather how they justified it by saying Krillin is a more experienced fighter when that's never been the case prior. I'm willing to let a lot of things slide in this series because of how it does thing, but there's only so much I can tolerate before I have to call bullshit.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You know the true neglected characters in Dragon Ball are? All those animal people extras we used to see in DB and early DBZ before Toriyama completely forgot about them. Thanks to this one fanfic I'm following, I now want it to be revealed that 17's family, aside from him, consist entirely of animal people.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!It's the by-product of Serial Escalation.
It does have a downside for characters not being terribly complex and the actual plot being minimal at best. It works for Dragon ball I suppose.
That is Dragon Ball Super for you, it doesn't have the best writing but it works I suppose.
"Mai waifu."I mean I still enjoy this shit but there are things I have become more critical of now that I'm older.
Like the Saiyan battle. I think its a dick move how despite all the preparation Nappa just single-handedly slaughtered the Z-Fighters & only received scratch's & clothing damage in return. I think Nappa should have lost or at least be seriously injured instead of just waiting for Goku.
Also yeah the power-scaling like in the Frieza Saga such as when the Ginyu Force arrive, everyone gets wrecked & then Goku arrives & then they get wrecked easy. Its just constant curbstomps.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Considering I still watch Shonen religiously, I doubt it. Then again, I'm a kid at heart.
I don't actually agree with that first point. Because Nappa being so ludicrously strong was definitely an effective "Holy shit!!" moment. You actually did feel like him and Vegeta are on a different level with how effortlessly they were beating the heroes before Goku showed up. And, if you watched Dragon Ball beforehand, it probably led to a few gut punches to see characters you grew attached to get slaughtered so mercilessly.
Granted, the effect is lost if anyone didn't watch Dragon Ball before Z as you probably didn't grow attached to any of the supporting characters.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Dragon Ball is good.
10/15: Would not rewatch again.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Phew. Took me a while to finally watch the latest ep.
So Goku and 17 finally meet. It's incredibly funny to think that these two never actually fought each other (though there are many characters in the series who never fought, as Abridged gleefully pointed out) let alone met face to face.
17's decision to not enter the tournament despite knowing the full consequences is strange. I can't really grasp the logic behind it.
As most have stated, the sudden jump in power levels for everyone has been questionable. It's ridiculous for them to suddenly be able to fight at such high levels when the series went to great pains to show us that they were completely out of their league in post Daimou / Z arc Dragonball.
I'm gonna wait to see how the manga handles this to determine how much of this is Toei forcing round holes into square pegs and how much is Toriyama just changing his mind about things (if these strength jumps are included in the manga than it was in his notes).
I thought I had more to say, but I guess that's it.
One Strip! One Strip! The Universal Tournament continues to prove that Zamasu has a point. He's totally right that the gods need to be more active in mortal affairs, even if his methods are totally wrong.
Really, so you believe he's actually writing these guys as suddenly being this strong then? I find it hard to believe he'd just change his mind when he put so much effort into making it clear the humans were totally outmatched previously even at their best.
...Well, with the exception of Yamcha, who's still a joke.
One Strip! One Strip!

Krillin has been a fighter longer than Gohan, so he would have more experience than Gohan. Krillin is older than Gohan.
And he won by exploiting the ring out rule, you make it sound as if Krillin over powered Gohan, which wasn't the case.
Gohan was still clearly the stronger one, which is why Krillin relied on his cunning.
