I thought some reasons for her not attacking Super Buu.
She was scared of him, he prolly reminded her of Cell & that dredged up some traumatic memories, she prioritized the protection of her daughter over fighting him, Super Buu was just that strong even with her increased power & the most logical one being the fact that she was taken out by an attack that affects you regardless of power-level before she could retaliate.
Super Gohan Buu was able to turn Vegito into a candy despite the latter being so much stronger than him its hilarious.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Also, Toriyama says a lot of thingsbut he doesn't always contradict himself.

"Mai waifu."
x3 I mean that's the reason why Universe 6 has a higher mortal level than Universe 7. Universe 6 Saiyans are basically Bully Hunters while the Universe 7 Saiyans have no problem wiping out all life on a planet if not the planet itself, for example.
Unless the next episode contradicts it, these are my guesstimations for U7 team tiers:
SSB KK Goku
SSB Goku and Vegeta
Gohan (if he gets his shit together and/or gets Godly Ki)
SS3 Goku
SS2 Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan(?)
SS1 Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan
Piccolo, Buu, 17, and 18
Base Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan
Krillin, Tenshinhan, and Roshi
Universal Japan is bring back the Universal Jump Summer this year!
◊
Of course DB is coming back with the Real 4D movie attraction, as well as some One Piece, Gintama and Jojo attractions too!

Also, just one thing on before...
Aren't those two things at odds with each other, though? Gohan's basically agreeing with the crowd that thinks Videl should get special treatment for being female. So if that was Toriyama's intent, or something that slipped through, it probably means that he didn't have her get badly beaten because she's a woman or whatever - which is what a lot of the people who seem to take issue with the fight assume.
If there was any intent there it was probably just to show how awful Spopovich was. Which is based on a double standard, but is really the opposite of what people seem to find uncomfortable about the scene.
