If parks in Dragon Ball have dinosaurs, it almost comes close to vaguely making sense that #17 is stronger now. It's also good to see he's a fan of the McGill International Review.

I know right. Toriyama had something really interesting and it's a shame he abandoned it for even more power!
I liked 17 and 18 (though his ex-editor didn't), but there could have been more to them then just being stronger than everybody. I mean...how do you accidentally create Androids more powerful than the most powerful (mortal, and non bubblegum) dude in the universe/galaxy/whatever Frieza was the strongest in?
As for 17 being stronger, I recall hearing the blurb about Toriyama saying they could grow stronger through training as well. Of course, at the time, I complained that that would never happen, because they would have no reason to train, so I'm gonna order myself some crow with a side order of foot for dinner it seems.
I can't remember who posted it, so I suppose we'll have to rely on everyone's favourite Pope to give us an answer.
One Strip! One Strip!I can't really see 17 and 18 training, honestly. I mean, there's basically all of ten guys who can beat him in a fight, why would 17 want to grow stronger?
It can be justified, but I don't think they would.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariBecause chicks don't want "the 11th strongest guy in the world."
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I mean why wouldn't you want to get stronger? There's no reason not to seek self-improvement and greater strength especially if its at no cost. There's just no excuse for mediocrity, a lesson Krillen & hopefully Gohan have already learned.
Also speaking of Androids, here's a hypothetical Super arc. Maybe something involving the Androids, a remake of the Super 17 arc though with 18 going evil as well. Have them become the weapons of pure evil they were supposed to be had Cell not come in & Trunks disrupted the timeline. It be interesting especially if the reactions of Krillen & Marron of 18 becoming violently evil are focused. Even create more original Android antagonists with unique abilities & the useful energy absorbing trick 19 & Gero had.
I mean it wouldn't be hard to make them a threat to Goku & Vegeta. Just say they absorbed God Ki or something.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I've always thought that sort of thing, with either 18 being rebooted to be like Future 18, or even staying the same and somehow meeting Future 17 and/or 18, was an interesting idea.
Super 17 was my favorite arc of GT (not that that's necessarily saying much), but they picked the sibling with less dramatic ties to the rest of the characters, and if you're going for an twisted into an evil weapon story you've got to go straight for the heart.

... But yeah, the fact that cyborgs are so powerful never made sense to me, either. The protagonists have been at a level way from the beginning where they can punch through steel with no effort. They're way past the point of plausibility and the only possible explanation for their strength is this mystical ki sort of inherent force of a living being, and that seems like the opposite of the kind of thing that you can improve on by adding soulless machinery to the mix.
I believe so. Admittedly, Goku only beat Metalitron due to the latter running out of power. And if Android 8 had been willing to fight, he'd had absolutely annihilated the Goku that he met at that point.
One Strip! One Strip!

How does that work? I thought they were kind of "fixed" at their level of strength? Or does ranger-ing involve enough physical training to level up?
