The point of that rant is that it really is a meaningless question because who would win in a fight is a ridiculously complicated question to answer that can give you any number of answers, and an author can swing it literally any direction they want in an universe with flexible enough rules.
For instance, Who would win in a fight, Goku, or one of Freeza's mooks?
Guess what? The mook won, because he caught Goku off guard (which is impossible but still happened), because he had a weapon that could harm Goku regardless of powerlevel (which is also impossible, but still happened) and because the plot needed Goku to be hurt at that point.
Yes, if you just take the characters' stats, Goku would win a million out of a hundred times, but if the author wants the mook to win, the author will bullshit out a way for the mook to win.
The question is meaningless because the answer depends on what the author wants to happen, and a sufficiently skilled author can justify a victory from cavemen over a spacefaring race.
Like, say, Signs, where the super advanced alien race can be easily defeated because they're weak to water and have trouble with the pantry doors.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariO_O ..............I just realized. That clown's voice may be channeling NOLAN'S JOKER!!!
Also, my opinion on the actual tournament structure: Half of me is near SALIVATING that its really gonna be a giant 48 minute free for all with possible smash cuts and rapid fire flash backs and flash forwards throughout the entire thing chronicling each of U7's fighters as they go through the insanity. The other half is disappointed that they're tossing out the traditional bracket system, denying us character development and world building.
In universe, this is probabpy justified considering the one this tournament is made for is essentially a small child with tue equivalent attention span. Plus, it does bring up the possibility of more than one universe not getting erased if there is a tie at the end of the match.
Ah hope.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!You know Goku, you could make at least a bit of an attempt to grasp the situation.
How about pointing out that Zen-O was already planning this and if not for his idea, none of them would even have a chance to save their universes.
One Strip! One Strip! It's gonna be pretty chaotic that's for sure.
Especially with the 48 minute time limit.
I imagine some teams will survive that first battle and they'll just have another one until there's no one left.
Things will be really interesting since Flying is outright banned too.
... You think Goku will still be able to summon the Flying Nimbus. It's not a weapon, and he's not flying of his own power either. I mean, there's no reason he'd be able to summon it in another dimension, but still.

One Strip! One Strip!I believe they could do it 24 style with one or two episodes concentrating on a pair of U7 fighters for the first twenty-four minutes and streamline it as the number of fighters dwindle.
@Quote: Proves theory I have that in the absense of an obvious villain and clear Black-and-White Morality, Goku's dickishness and ignorance skyrockets. *face palm*
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!This is crazy. I mean, even with the caveat of Zen-O already planning this, and Goku having to fight all out or get everyone erased, I truly don't get why he isn't showing a bit more concern over this thing.
Now he really is making himself look like he's at fault. Goku! Just fucking say I'm not evil!
You're painting yourself as antagonistic for no reason.
When Bergamo was setting you up, you could have pointed out that his suggestion of the Tournament actually gave everyone a chance to save themselves from something that was going to happen anyway, but instead, you're just like Aw Yeah! Fighting time!
You dumb shit.
One Strip! One Strip!Goku might just think that letting them think it's his fault means they'll fight him all the harder.
It's not like he can change the situation, so why bother?

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWe know from Online that, eventually, Goku and Vegeta fuck off deep into space when they're nearing their age limit and go all out against each other one last time. A number of years later, scientists see the light from the solar system/galaxy I'm assuming they exploded in the process.
We currently have no reason to believe that what Toriyama wrote for Online won't happen.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I don't know I just feel that Vegeta would handle old age pretty gracefully and just peacefully retire into his new life with Bulma, Trunks & Bulla.
I instead feel that Goku would have temper tantrum at the idea of not being able to fight anymore and thus would do something about it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Goku is pretty likely to be the sort who would prefer to die in battle if he's even aging anymore. Both he and Vegeta have ascended using God Ki. I know they're not God enough that the Potara work like they do with the actual Gods, nonsensical though that might be because fucking retcons, but they might be God enough that their aging has at least slowed down significantly.

Also, the Tournament of Power is going to be a massive battle royale that will last the equivalent of 48 Earth minutes; the team with the most members still standing wins, or the last man standing wins it for their team. The goal will be to knock your opponent(s) off the arena; if they fall on the arena floor, you still need to throw them off. No killing, no weapons beyond techniques, and no flight-based techniques are allowed, the latter being nullified in the World of Void.
