Supreme Kai was one of my favorite characters in Budokai 2. He was the DBZ equivalent of "Dudley" at the time, all his moves sounded classy. In Tenkaichi, one of his combos even involved beating the opponent with a block of Katchin. Now does that sound barbaric? No. Because he does it telekinetically. He telekinetically bashes your face in with the densest metal in the universe.

Why was Vegeta still hanging on the sidelines when Goku beat Recoome, Jeice and Burter? At that point he was good enough to not immediately die against first form Frieza, who had a Power level of 530k, whereas the best Ginyu guy there hand 64K, so why was he acting like Goku was such hot shit when he'd (Goku) would need Kaiokens to match him (Vegeta)?
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."I believe at that point, he was giving numerous What the fucks?!! over Goku's ridiculous strength.
Especially since the last time Vegeta saw the latter, Goku had come down with a bad case of Oh God! Oh God! My legs are broken! disease.
A truly horrible Giant monkey induced affliction that can strike whenever a saiyan looks at the full moon at any time.
He might not have been aware how strong he was yet. Vegeta was running off energy sensing rather than a Scouter, so he couldn't just bring up his exact numerical power level for reference.
When Frieza arrives at the site where Dende summoned the Dragon, Vegeta's gasping in terror right along with Krillin and Gohan, before his bravado takes over and he starts mouthing off. Much of his bravado in the series seems to just be Tough Guy Talk; playing himself up as bigger and badder than everyone around him regardless of whether or not it's true. Up until his final moment of acceptance of Goku's power in the battle with Kid Buu, Vegeta is a creature of pride who refuses to accept the idea that he's not the biggest dog in town, despite evidence to the contrary laid out clear as day in front of him.
He didn't want to fight Ginyu, Goku, OR Frieza without attaining his immortality because he didn't believe he could actually win said fight. But when the fight was standing there in front of him, the only thing he could do is start boasting, convince himself that he can win, and throw down; his pride would accept nothing less.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.He didn't want to fight Ginyu because the Dragonballs were unprotected and he could then go for immortality unchallenged and eventually defeat Frieza. His power level shot up to 250K+ after he ate that Senzu Bean, so if he had blown in Ginyu's direction the old purple guy would've probably exploded.
What you said about his pride is pretty accurate though. He spends a lot of time rationalizing when others surpass him. A large quantity of his first fight on Earth was him doing this.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Buff Buu? Wow. They are desperate. What techniques will he even use? He was around for five seconds in the manga and a couple minutes in the anime, and the only thing he used there (besides the trademark Buu regeneration and absorption) was a generic ki blast. He didn't even take a single step or do ANYTHING In the manga.
Well, best to have him anyway. For completion's sake. Buu has a lot of forms; Pure, Buff, Fat, Good, Evil, Super, Super (Gotenks/Piccolo absorbed), Super (Piccolo/Goten/Trunks absorbed), Super (Gohan/Piccolo/Goten/Trunks absorbed), Super (Piccolo absorbed), Uub, Super Uub...
And that's not even counting the video game forms. Super (Ten/Yamcha absorbed), Super (Freeza absorbed), Super (Cell absorbed), Super (Vegeta absorbed), Super (Goku absorbed), Super (Cooler/Bojack/Broly/Babidi absorbed)...

May seem random but I did some research on the box office numbers for Battle Of Gods and I gotta, say it pretty much confirmed what we all know... South Americans love Dragon Ball.
I mean, I knew already knew that Dragon Ball has a huge Latino fanbase but... damn. For an 85 minute animated movie based on shonen manga that has seen a new anime installment since 1997, it sure made a pretty penny overseas
. Which begs the question... why the hell won't 20th Century Fox pick up the movie so that Funimation can dub it and finally be screened in the US or UK. I mean, believe or not, but there are people who would be willing to pay to watch a Dragon Ball Z animated movie if it were in theaters.
