Nikkolas, FOFD, you've convinced me. Yu Yu Hakusho is next on my list.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]I was lucky. The first two sagas of Hakusho aired on Toonami, and I caught it after Dragonball Z. They didn't air the last two arcs in their entirety and it was years before I found the right sites to watc- I mean, purchased the DV Ds and watched those remaining episodes. No regrets.
I will say this - if you noticed, those videos are from Episodes 85 to 90. I don't think it's that much longer than Dragonball Z if you cut out Dragonball filler, but more importantly, Hakusho has Early-Installment Weirdness. The first arc isn't going to seem as deep as what you just saw, but keep running with it, it gets much, much better.
Same as Dragonball, for some, when you get to the King Piccolo arc.
Well, depending on your point of view, it might also get worse. They are definitely some problems that the later seasons bring but the anime does a good job of keeping the quality up where the manga had some serious pitfalls later on.
I'd also recommend the early and late parts of the manga, because there are some storylines that get cut out that might interest you and they're of a different tone than what the anime chooses to keep. However overall the manga is much worse with lazy art, way too much Humans Are Bastards and cutting the Three Kings Arc short.

Damaeon Clarke as Perfect Cell is also equally amazing as Younger Toguro (2nd major YYH villain) and you could hardly find more dissimilar characters. he's just amazing.
It's one reason why i hate when people say "I LOVED BROTHERHOOD DUB! IT DA BEST!!!" When FMAB used 99% of the same V As from FMA '03 with the notable exception of no longer having Clarke as Scar. Therefore, it is not better.

The best thing about Yusuke in the Yu Yu Hakusho dub:
Yusuke(to Seiryu): Let Keiko go, and I'll only rip out one of your lungs.
Seiryu: And if I refuse?
Yusuke: THEN HOLD YOUR FRIGGING BREATH!!!!!
Heh. Still love that line. Even though, if he was missing a lung, he wouldn't really be able to hold his breath, or would just die of bloodloss.

One Strip! One Strip!I will admit this though.
I did not like how Chapter Black ended. Suddenly Dying Sensui was really not executed well and as epic as it is, part of me is really irritated with how "DBZ" everything became for the final showdown between Yusuke and Sensui. Compare Minoru's fight witH Yusuke to Shinobu's fight with Demon Yusuke and it's literally like going from DB to DBZ in my opinion.
I really liked the Chapter Black arc until the Ass Pull with Sensui's multiple personalities. Then it was went down the crapper and is probably my least favourite arc because of it.

Still freaky.

-drops coffee- I KNEW there was a reason I liked that voice. Something about that psychotic laughter of his
.

Another Yusuke line I liked, though, as a warning for those who haven't watched the series, this is a spoiler from pretty late into the show. Yusuke goes to talk to
Raizen, his ancestor.
Yusuke: The only thing I see is an overconfident dead man.
Raizen: -If you can move me from my throne, I'll gladly give it to you, along with my life, my son.
Yusuke: Keep your throne... (points finger) your life is good enough for me!

Mmm... yeah, I'll give ya that one. But I liked how it ended with Yusuke losing. Hell, his whole "why am I fighting" Heroic BSoD was pulled off well I thought. That felt very original coming from a shonen series.
Didn't bother me as much, but in retrospect I might've been giddy about having more of the series to watch. I can see your problem with it.

I didn't. Combined with the following arcs, Yusuke becomes a Failure Hero which is just a weird direction since he was built up so much only to consistently fail to live up to it. It also completely botches the message the Chapter Black arc was originally going for where Yusuke was supposed to be stronger than Sensui but inexperienced, yet then it's suddenly that completely changes and Sensui is just better than Yusuke even with Yusuke's new power up. I think Yusuke losing in the Three Kings arc is much better, and would really work if he hadn't gone through the same shit in the Chapter Black arc.
I think that the person who said that Yusuke was stronger was Sensui's personality, Minoru. That may well have been true, and we know that the different personas specialize in different skill sets.
Since Minoru said it, he might have just been referring to that iteration of his power. "Shinobu" claimed he hadn't spoken to anyone for months. At one point Yusuke noted that something about Sensui's (at the time, Minoru's) power felt "fake" somehow, so when the personas got revealed, the pieces started fitting together. It just didn't hit me as hard because I didn't see it as thematic build-up at the time I guess.

I'm aware of the reason behind that, but it's still shit. We know nothing of Sensui's personalities at that point, so as far as we know Yusuke was stronger than Sensui plain as simple. The personalities, along with Yusuke only being stronger than one of the false ones, are an Ass Pull and a retcon that completely changes the dynamic between Yusuke and Sensui - for the worse. Then the real Shinobu is just stupendously strong so that even Yusuke's power up doesn't reach him and it honestly just ruins a large part of what he had going for him.

Sensui was the perfect Evil Counterpart to Yusuke - Weak, but Skilled vs. Strong, but Unskilled, he used martial arts instead of brawling, hell, he even had a leg-version of the Spirit Gun/Shotgun as he put more emphasis on his (rather stupidly long) legs iwhile Yusuke pretty much always used his hands for both physical and spiritual moves.
Then Shinobu came around and poof, that all went out the window. I agree witH Saiga here.

Bibidi and the Kioshins confirmed for Heroes.
Also, a Neko Majin support, like the Girus.

Hey, at least the Kaioshin (or maybe just South Kaioshin) actually had fights
, even if those fights were only shown in the anime. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for South Kaioshin to be put into the games. Characters without even a single real fight were able to get into these games, like King Cold, Babidi, kid Chi Chi, and fucking Appule.
Bibidi... I just don't get.
I imagine South's apparent popularity stems from being among the few female fighters in the whole series.
We've all said there's a huge lack of them.
Here's thought: Bojack and his minions powered up with Babidi's Majin Mark: How strong would they be?
One Strip! One Strip!Err, West. South is the gigantic buff one who transformed Pure Buu into Buff Buu
◊, and whose power is the reason Super is much stronger than Pure.
Coincidentally, she's also the most powerful female fighter in the whole series (but then shouldn't she be gender-less...?), even if she got totally curbstomped in her only shown fight. I believe Zangya is the only female who is anywhere close, and she's just at Cell Jr level, which is the same level East Kaioshin (the tiny purple one) is at. West is stated to be a lot stronger than him.
Unknown... but the Majin boost didn't seem to be that big of a boost. Videl wasn't really superhuman, and she could still nearly kill Spopovich. Vegeta wasn't THAT far off from Goku, and the power up just made him equal. I'd say that it maybe makes you around 25% stronger or so. Bojack's minions were at Cell Jr level (judging by their reaction to Vegeta and Zangya's brief fight with Trunks) and Bojack himself seemed to be in between SS Gohan and full power Perfect Cell. I guess Babidi's power up would only bump up the henchmen to right in between CG Goku and the Cell Juniors (except Kogu, who would still only reach Buu Saga Piccolo level at best), while Bojack would be slightly weaker than Perfect Cell and Dabra.

It's a pretty popular consensus that the dub is better than the sub, for script changes as well as casting. I definitely prefer the dub.
